I love lighting banana trees they provide some beautiful silhouetting and palms with natural shadowing and YES a visual connection to the ground! Don't want hovering lights besides the entire tree is beautiful! And arbors look amazing with proper lenses and diffusers to soften and spread the light. It's all about proper design and proper install on a nice long lasting outdoor lighting system.

This is one of the older 200 amp panels of 4 I replaced at the Villa Mira Flores estate. Amazingly beautiful home that just needed a few minor electrical upgrades. Being the home was built in 1928 and had some renovations over the years but lacked upgraded breaker boxes

I love using reflective light wether it be around pools or lakes and ponds. This one here helps provide a visual connection to the arbor from the pool so if its dark out and you wanna relax in a comfy chair with a bit of indirect light to soften the mood and create and conversation area. Looks awesome on a nice calm evening with the up lights at the four corners then the use of linear spread and frosted lenses to soften and spread the light across the lattice being used to provide shade on the roof during daylight hours!

This was a demo on a home I did in London Kentucky 3 years ago. With the demo I set up a quik set of plug n play lights so the home or property owner can see what the final investment will look like. This one went quik as soon as I brought them out they stared at it for a moment then asked when I could do the complete install? I didn't gather any pics of the finished project but I did use quite a few lens diffusers and color enhancing lenses on some of the greener especially the Japanese Maples to pull all the color out.

A poor design, these lights are not only aimed high up on the trunk of the tree but also sticking up out of the flower bed with all the natural surroundings you have these unnatural lights in the way!

Example of a poor design and poor quality lighting this has achieved nothing but dark areas and a very uninviting entrance. With lights that seem to be placed just kinda wherever! One of my main rules in lighting is to always avoid windows unless its a dormer or a specific type of window because most character on a home is in the craftsmanship the design the soffits the facia and use of natural materials such as stone, brick, etc

Proper use and design of uplighting on a home with tons of character and well used in ground lighting hence the name "well lighting" no big spot lights sticking out like a sore thumb! A well deserving home indeed
