MD Lic # 7073 VA Lic # 2710 027823 Today is the day, you need service in your home from a qualified, licensed electrician.

But how do you know who to call? You want someone who is qualified, who is efficient, who won't waste your time or cost you unneeded extra expense. You thought about calling one of those companies that advertise 75, 100 or more years in business but then you realized the technician coming to your house is probably not 100+ years old. The unfortunate reality is you don't know if you have received b

ad service until the experience is over, the money has been spent and the repairs are suspect. I understand the situation you find yourself in today. You want an expert, one that arrives in the time frame that is promised, who is friendly, efficient and above all not in a hurry to just get to the next job. Perhaps you need your electric service "heavy-up" performed and an old unsafe service electric panel removed. Maybe you have a new hot tub that needs to be properly and safely wired. Or you want a ceiling fan installed but don't want it to wobble and fall on your head later. Maybe you have an older home that needs rewiring or a newer home that needs fixtures updated. Whatever you need, from ceiling fans to circuit breakers, from outlets that don’t work to electric panel replacements and everything in between, I am here when you need help. With 30 years experience and a Master's Electrician's license you are always getting the best possible value for your money and time spent.

As temperatures drop, many families in the DC area plug in space heaters for extra warmth. Remember to always plug space heaters directly into a wall outlet, not an extension cord or power strip . Using the wrong cord can overheat and trip your circuit breaker – or worse, start a fire. Keep heaters at least 3 feet from curtains or bedding and never leave them unattended. Your comfort is important, but safety comes first!

Properly lit walkways and porches aren’t just welcoming – they help prevent slips on ice by lighting up trouble spots. If you need extra pathway lighting or timer installations, Circuit Doctors is here to keep your home safe and bright.

Yes, installing a two-wire extension cord (or any flexible cord) inside finished walls in a residential home is a violation of the National Electrical Code (NEC). Extension cords are considered flexible cord sets under Article 400, and Section 400.12 explicitly prohibits their use as a substitute for fixed wiring, where run through holes in walls, or where concealed by walls, floors, or ceilings.

This rule applies to prevent fire hazards, as extension cords are not rated for in-wall heat dissipation or permanent installation, unlike approved wiring methods such as NM cable (Romex).

The 2020 edition updated this section to clearly include flexible cords in the "Uses Not Permitted" list, reinforcing that they cannot be used for such purposes.

The following pictures are from a clients house who says they had

Today is the day, you need service in your home from a qualified, licensed electrician for your home electrical repairs. But whether you live in northern VA or Maryland, the question is the same... How do you know who to call? You want someone who is qualified, who is efficient, who won't waste your time or cost you unneeded extra expense. You considered calling one of those companies that advertise 75, 100 or more years in business but then you realized the technician coming to your house is probably not 100+ years old. On average a homeowner will have a need for electric service once every 3-5 years. The unfortunate reality oft times is you don't know if you have received bad service until the electrician has completed the job on your home, the money has been spent and the repairs are suspect. I understand the situation you find yourself in today. I have listened to the unfortunate accounts of many people just like you, who have suffered at the hands of someone who lacked integrity or knowledge or skill. You want an expert, one that arrives in the time frame that is promised, who is friendly, efficient and above all not in a hurry to just get to the next job. Perhaps you need a qualified electrician to troubleshoot your home electric system or you need an electric service "heavy-up" performed and an old unsafe service electric panel removed. Maybe you have a new hot tub that needs to be properly and safely wired. Or you want a ceiling fan installed but don't want it to wobble and fall on your head later. Perhaps you have an older home that needs rewiring or a newer home that needs fixtures updated. Whatever you need, from ceiling fans to circuit breakers, from outlets that don’t work to electric panel replacements and everything in between, Circuit Doctors Electric Services is here when you need help. With 30+ years experience, a Master's Electrician's license, and the testimonials of many satisfied clients, you can rest assured that you are always getting the best possible value for your money and time spent.
