Here at Old Man River we believe in the power of nature to reduce anxiety and help to heal yourself. This is why we provide a beautiful natural sanctuary for veterans and first responders with PTSD.
Many studies have now shown that being in nature helps to reduce and alleviate PTSD symptoms.
We are open for day use of the property to veterans and first responders.
We have a lake full of fish, approximately a mile of hiking trails and a beautiful and relaxing waterfall you can just chill at and reflect.
Please bring your family and have fun in the beauty of nature. Whether you want to use the property with your family or have a kind and caring ear to speak with, we are here for you. You are not alone.
If you or someone you love may be interested, please have them message us through this page and we can work out the dates for your visit. We take social distancing into account, therefore visitors will have exclusive access to the property. Visits must be scheduled.
Studies also show that having a purpose and being of service is another way that greatly helps. If you would like to get involved with us by helping with a project, with maintenance or gardening, or being part of our support structure for those who need to talk, please let us know.
In these trying times it’s good to be in nature and to be there for one another.
Thanks and much love to all.
