My goji berry bush is blooming!! I really thought it was in bad shape when it arrived; however it seems to be slowly recovering from it's shipment. Hopefully it will continue to thrive. I'd really like to bring it along as part of my Artisan's Life stand at Castle Wars.

Special love to all those who have been subjected to my evening Erhu concerts of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star as well as other hit music for beginners for the last few days. I swear... it's getting better.

I'm getting really excited for Castle Wars 2026. I will be doing a number of classes related to Chinese arts, alchemy and philosophy. There will also be a few other fabulous people doing Asian inspired classes in my pavilion so I hope you will stop by.

Oh my goodness, I'm in love with this instrument! It's the Guqin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BHCRni-ldE

The guqin, from what I understand, originally had 5 strings but eventually evolved to seven strings. It's a form of Chinese zither that has been played for more than 3,000 years and was traditionally associated with scholars, poets, and philosophers. During the Tang dynasty (the era I'm focused on), it flourished, making it perfect for my alternate persona. I'm not a huge performer when it comes to music. I like my own inner space... so this would be perfect, considering that playing the guqin is often seen as more of a form of meditation than a performance. As I listen to this gentleman playing, it really encourages stillness, concentration, and self-cultivation. Again, perfect for my Taoist practitioner's alternate persona.

It's a long way to go before I can go down this particular rabbit hole; however, I'm in love.

Talk about amazing luck. I popped by the Goodwill in Thomson GA on the way home today and right there sitting on a nightstand in the middle of the aisle was this fabulous basket for gathering herbs and such. Not far off was this little tray to display stuff. Both are absolutely perfect for my Chinese Artisans Life tent at Castle Wars! I am going to attribute it to the Cloud Script that is often used on talismans I have been studying. I had been thinking about trying to find one of these baskets but the one's I've found previously are more than I'm willing to pay. And then suddenly this appears. I'm very very excited.
