In 2021, we purchased 4 acres of beautiful property in Waxhaw, North Carolina and decided to build our dream home there. A barndo (or barndominium) is an alternative to a traditionally built house and offers a versatile and customizable living space. Most barndos are post-frame structures, which makes them very different from a conventional home. They commonly include a steel frame and metal shell
, spray foam insulation, vaulted ceilings, polished concrete floors, and open floor plans. Cross Creek Barndo will be this and so much more! Join us as we make our way through the construction process from ground breaking to barndo completion – and beyond! We’ll be setting up an organic garden with raised beds and containers, building a climate controlled greenhouse for year-round fruits and veggies, creating the coolest chicken and duck coop for our friendly fowl, and constructing a winterized “catio” for our rescue cats. Our goal is to use recycled and repurposed materials for all outdoor projects. We’ll keep you posted on the progress (and challenges) along our journey. Thank you for liking and following our page! We look forward to sharing Cross Creek Barndo with you! Maggie and Joe Saturley
