Arena laser graded, material processed, and final graded.

This arena pad was previously built but it was just a rough grade with rocks mixed in and grades that didn’t work with the fence but after we were done with it it’s ready to ride.

We started this job by laser grading to match the fence, which was a challenge in itself because as you can see in the pictures, the fence was built to match the natural grades of the property instead of level. This is where knowledge and experience come into play. We were able to match the fence lines while also putting in a dual slope for water shed.

Next we rock crushed the entire pad. The rock crusher is not only for crushing rocks but it also is great for processing the compacted material to leave a 4 inch layer of fine material to ride on.
Sand wasn’t in the cards at this time so we were able to just process the material nice enough for them to ride on now and when they are ready for sand we can go back and water and compact the top layer and then put sand on top.

The final step after rock crushing is to final grade the arena and we’re ready to rope.

Barn pad knocked out and ready for forms and concrete. Customer wanted the barn to be on the same elevation as the building next it. We cut as much as 3 feet in some places with zero fill on the pad, slopes cut in and compacted. Done right the first time. The extra dirt will be used in a future arena build and we will be back once the concrete is poured to start the final grade and roads and approaches.

❗️Rock Crushing❗️

This new home build in Rhome left our customer with an extremely rock back yard, unable to maintain with rocks the size of footballs in some places. Our rock crusher penetrates the surface 4-6 inches crushing the rocks in their place while also reconditioning the soil and leaving a smooth even surface. Whether it’s soil prep for growing grass or a rocky arena risking injury to horses our rock crusher can take care of it all.

❗️Tank Clean Out ❗️

Our customer had a tank they wanted to clean up and capitalize on water retention. We started by draining the tank and removing all silt to another location on the ranch to fill in low spots in a few places. After that we removed a few select trees and established a grade with the spillway and existing drainage that fills the pond. We removed the top soil in the new pond coverage area and dug down to good clay lined the entire tank.

Digging test holes before starting the project let us know that there was plenty of usable clay. That allows us to keep the cost down with not having to import clay while also providing the most effective form of water retention.

We started working on this arena last fall. We rock crushed the pad, watered and compacted it, ad then hauled in screened cushion sand. The customer opted to spread the sand themselves, we are all about working with our customers budgets and what they want us to do and what they want to do themselves. We are just here to make the whole process easier on our customer. After all the rain and material settling they decided they wanted us to come back out and re level the sand.

We believe in having the best tools possible to complete our work and efficiently and precise as possible. We used our skid steer with the 6 way blade and smart grade lasers to knock this one out with 100% confidence in our grades.

Our customer recently bought this adjoining piece of property to expand his current operation and it came with an old over grown and leaking tank that he wanted to turn from a cow pond into to a centerpiece of the property that could be enjoyed by family and the wildlife.

We started by clearing the trees off the actual dam itself and also clearing further into the tree line to provide adequate room to properly expand the width of the damn to make it safe to drive across and also build a slope that was mowable.

Once the clearing was done we got to work removing all the silt and top soil. We hauled the silt to another location to dry out and then be spread in low spots and the usable excess dirt we put on the back side of the dam to expand and build a proper slope.

Rock was also a big issue in this tank. There was a rock shelf surrounding the entire pond so we over excavated the rock and started digging down to find clay. Once we found clay we layered in the clay with proper compaction to provide a sealed clay layer.

We used our machine control laser system to cap the damn perfectly level and set it to a grade that worked well with the natural terrain while also providing enough freeboard to achieve proper drainage with the primary and secondary spillways.

Anyone can dig a hole in the ground but we pride ourselves in bringing knowledge and experience to all of projects, not only to make an aesthetically pleasing tank, but also being able to build a tank with the proper over flow contingencies to make sure we never compromise the integrity of the dam.
