40+ years of just cover it up paint jobs... yeesh.
I get asked a lot if I can paint. Shoot... anyone can paint. Anyone can work a brush or roller or buy themselves a sprayer and call themselves a painter. The question is, can you do it right? Paint isn't just for looks. It's the armor protecting your house. If it lets the weather in, than it's not doing its job.
This house was painted at least five times without stripping, sanding, or proper sealing. Grinding off that paint was like removing dragon scales... coats of paint just slapped over each other and blistered wide open, separating from the wood, letting water through, making it worse every year as the paint held in moisture, slowly rotting the siding away.
Older wood siding takes extra care. Newer composite siding not so much. You can just keep spraying on coats and it won't rot. This was a monster to recondition every wall, tighten boards, seal every crack, tighten and seal all of the trim around every window, 3-4 coats of paint. Bullet proof. It could look a bit better, more time could be spent sanding, but working within a budget. The paint's going to do it's job now for a long time. Next summer will be an inspection and touchups, looking for any cracks or nails popping through the paint. Some surface sanding and another coat will make it look almost new. Only so much you can do with old siding like this without replacing it. Thanks for getting to it on time, it shouldn't have to.

No sprayer... No tape. Everything up close and personal.

Here's my take on one of these fences. Exactly what the customer wanted. Metal posts will not rot. All wood left natural to age. Strong enough for a bear to climb over.

Made some cooling tables for the rabbits. Putting frozen water bottles in the cages every day is just too much. Now just need to insulate the lines and put the pump in a cooler instead of a bucket. Basic $20 pump off amazon. I used leftover masonry motor mixed with thinset for the tables, skimmed with thinset after the fill was cured. I'd recommend using just straight cement, but using my leftover materials came out great. for the coils, I salvaged from an old upright freezer. (dont worry, there was no refrigerant) I'm running dish soap through it to clean out the oil. 5/8 poly line from the pump, 1/4 drill to make the holes, 1//4 I.D. vinyl tube to the refrigerant coils. Basic 550GPH pump moves enough water for four tables.

More tables in mind for the future but this prototype is working awesomely.

There are a few easy ways I an think of doing this without refrigerator coils. You can use a sheet f plywood, paint it with something like aquadefence, or possibly a couple coats of basic exterior house paint, or get laminated plywood.... create a 1/2" water channel and use silicone to seal something on top, like cement board or tile. just need some nozzles to attach hose to where they can't chew it. Any handyman worth his salt can figure this out.

2pm, 92 degrees, they aren't even panting anymore. Just chill and happy.

It's the time of year when people are turning on their irrigation systems and finding out something is broken. Yes I do sprinkler systems and valves too.
Going out to places like TC, you'd better have everything you need to make a repair because thees nothing you can buy and I try not to make a return trip as it's a waste of my time and the customers money. Things don't always work out that way, but in this case I was able to fix a valve,find the leak and repair the line within a couple of hours.

Another one for the books!
110 hours. Actually 93... forgot to take off travel. 13 days.
Lets fit a 60" shower in a 59" space. No problem.
Old house. Old plumbing. Old electrical. Unlevel floors. Challenges galore.
