J.E.C. is owned and operated by Zach Mikash, a Colorado licensed master electrician with over 20 years of experience.
Mr. Mikash began his electrical career shortly after turning 18 years old, beginning his apprenticeship in residential new construction, primarily single family homes. After two years, he transitioned to commercial remodel work, installing and updating electrical and control systems in retail facilities. He completed his apprenticeship performing commercial service work, troubleshooting, maintaining and expanding existing electrical systems in a variety of commercial buildings.
In 2010, after receiving his journeyman license in Colorado, Mr. Mikash transitioned from field work to construction management. Over the next decade he was part of management teams overseeing some of the largest and most complex construction projects in the state, primarily focusing on datacenters, hospitals, airports and industrial manufacturing. During this time period Mr. Mikash completed both his Colorado master electrician certification and a masters degree in project management from Colorado State University.
In 2020 he opened J.E.C., seeing a need in the residential and light commercial market in northern Colorado for an electrical contractor who can bring the affordable pricing of a smaller contractor while still maintaining the professionalism and expertise of the largest contractors in Colorado. In 2024, Mr. Mikash was named one of Northern Colorado's 40 under forty by Biz West.
In his spare time Mr. Mikash teaches at the Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain Chapter trade school and enjoys spending time with his family, getting outdoors and watching Denver Nuggets basketball.
