Our niece is an incredibly talented artist!

In 2024, my sister in law commissioned her to do a painting for everyone in our family as a special Christmas gift. It was by far the most incredible gift anyone could have given! (See below for Sara's website).

The painting is based on the buoys of our family. Multiple generations of lobsterman are shown here. The green and white wooden buoy on the right was my grandfathers and I carry on his colors to this day. My brothers blue and orange buoy are now carried on by his grandson, with his other grandson designing a new green and white buoy that shows below in Jenny's art work.

The gift Gail and Sara gave, is something that will carry forward for generations and thank you will never be enough to express how much love is contained within that painting.

Sara's work is available for viewing at

Her black and gold wildlife work is amazing! Along with everything else she does.

Although our artistic ability does not hold a candle to Sara's, but it does in fact show the creativity that you can make when you put your mind to work. Jenny (with some help from KC here and there on the buoy cups) took Sara's buoy idea and put it on glasses bringing the shores wildlife, fishing world and ocean side to art.

I've often said creativity is a cheap way for a facelift on something.

I gave KC the idea to paint what was a plain jane State of Maine mount for deer antlers. He had made it a few years ago and with other changes we made in our house, we decided to move it from the spot it had been. He scoffed and didn't think it would look good.

But he did agree to start by painting it plain green, then that progressed to black outline and then he jumped into highlights.

I think he did a pretty darned good job considering it's free hand and he might be the worlds best stick figure artist, but isn't known in our family for his drawing ability. 😉

Our latest project has been on the creative side.

After seeing this new project and having previously seen KC's firepit and other exclusive designs he's made, we've been told recently by a friend or 2, we may need to open a new business chapter called The Creative Couple or The Rustic Artist.

We put this idea together and put our creative energy to work.

From start to finish this staircase got a facelift.

KC did all the metal work you see on the handrail going down the stairs as well as the side panels on the top stretch.

He does know his limits and felt he needed a bit more time on the plasma cutter before attempting something like the large upper panel with the heron, ducks and hawk. That was ordered online to add to the rest of the spectacular work he did. But anyone that knows him, knows he will persevere and quicker than you can blink be making those panels himself, because that's who he is.

A huge shout out to our best bud Dave who helped put this in place for final measurement checks before heading out to powder coating.

Special thanks goes to Maine Metal Coating for their superior job of powder coating the finished project. We have used this company numerous times and we can't speak highly enough of them. They are superb.

If I've said it once, I've said it NUMEROUS times. There is NOTHING KC can't create when let loose on ideas.

Ready for a facelift on something? Throw it his way and see what he comes up with for you.

Our most recent project has been rewarding, slow, frustrating, challenging and absolutely incredible!
Back in February we posted a sneak peak at this project. Here are the final results.

A special thanks goes out to all our family members and friends who stepped up in time of need! We could not have done this without you. As per usual the Wells Family is absolutely AWESOME!

Thanks go out to our subs. As any contractor knows, we could not do these projects without our subcontractors. THANK YOU ALL!
J.R Hill was terrific! From blasting to finish work Jaime and crew were terrific to work with. Professional. Timely and excellent work as always.
To our subs whom we've worked with for years, (some of which traveled great distances), we're honored and beyond thankful you are willing to travel to supply exceptional work. Kevin our sheetrocker and Tom our electrician are 2nd to none. We cannot express how appreciative we are of you!
And to all other subs and suppliers... Thank you!

We don't often plug for organizations but in this case they deserve it.
A huge thanks go out to Bath Savings Bank. We cannot recommend them enough for a project such as this. From start to finish they have been GREAT to deal with.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
To everyone.
And most of all... Thanks to our clients, Nick and Jacquie Wells.
Who got into this house JUST in time as they are expecting TWINS!

Winter may have had us in a choke hold, but anyone who runs a business that requires you work outside even in the worst of weather, knows you can't back down to Mother Nature! (But it sure can slow you down when she wants to kick your butt!).

The current project has encountered Mother Nature's wrath, but progress is gaining.

Sneak peak on the current project.

Creative projects is one thing KC excels at!
There isn't much that he can't design and accomplish when his creativity is let loose.

From start to finish this firepit has been a super cool project.

KC designed this with each aspect of it (including the his lobster boat colors) were hand drawn, plasma cut and then hand painted by KC and myself.

A special thanks goes out to Travis for the use of his plasma cutter.
