🎉 We may be a few days late to our own celebration…but NEFCR is officially 7 years strong!

Seven years ago, New England Foundation Crack Repair started with a simple goal: provide homeowners with honest recommendations, quality workmanship, and repairs we could stand behind.

Since then, we’ve repaired countless foundations, helped homeowners keep their basements dry, expanded our services, grown our team, and learned a whole lot along the way.

None of it would be possible without the homeowners, contractors, real estate professionals, property managers, and communities throughout New England who continue to trust us.

And, of course, a huge thank you to our team—the people behind the scenes and in the field who make it happen every day.

Seven years of strengthening foundations. Countless homes protected. And we’re just getting started.

We might be late to the party, but we couldn’t let this milestone pass without celebrating! 🎂🥳

Here’s to Year 8!

Done Right, Watertight.

One of the most common things we receive is a close-up photo of a foundation crack. While close-up photos are helpful, they only tell part of the story.

That's why we'll often ask for:
✅ A photo of the entire wall
✅ Photos of the floor and ceiling near the crack
✅ Pictures from different angles
✅ Exterior photos of the same area (when possible)

A crack can look completely different once we see the entire wall. The location, direction, length, nearby windows, corners, pipes, water staining, and signs of movement all help us determine what's actually happening.

The more context we have, the more accurate our recommendations can be.

So if we ask you to "zoom out," we're not making things difficult—we're making sure we're giving you the best advice possible.

💧 Don't Ignore That Foundation Crack

Not every foundation crack is a structural emergency—but every crack deserves a closer look.

Cracks can allow water into your basement, worsen over time, or indicate movement that should be monitored. The good news? Many leaking cracks can be permanently repaired from the inside without excavation.

At New England Foundation Crack Repair, we take the time to inspect the issue, explain what's causing it, and recommend the right solution for your home—never more than you need.

If you've noticed a crack in your foundation, we're here to help.

🐍 Think snakes are the only thing finding their way into your basement? Think again!

Over time, fieldstone foundations can develop deteriorated mortar joints and small gaps that allow water, insects, rodents, and even snakes to enter your home.

Repointing and sealing these areas can help reduce water intrusion, improve the appearance of your foundation, and close off common entry points for unwanted pests.

If you've noticed open joints, missing mortar, water seepage, or unexpected basement visitors, we'd be happy to take a look!

🌧️ Rainy Monday Reminder: Is Your Basement Staying Dry?

Rainy days are often when hidden basement problems finally make themselves known.

If you're home today, take a few minutes to check your basement for:
✔️ Damp spots or puddles
✔️ Water along the floor-to-wall seam
✔️ Leaking foundation cracks
✔️ Pipe pe*******ons with moisture
✔️ A sump pump that's running constantly or not keeping up

One of the most helpful things you can do is identify where the water is first entering. Before cleaning it up, try taking a few photos or a short video of the exact entry point. This can make a big difference in determining the proper repair.

Small signs today can help prevent bigger problems tomorrow.

If you've noticed water in your basement after today's rain, we're here to help with a FREE onsite evaluation.

💧 Did You Know?

Many homeowners assume only large foundation cracks are a concern. In reality, even a small crack can allow water into your basement when hydrostatic pressure builds after heavy rain.

If you've noticed a crack in your foundation—even if it seems minor—it's worth having it evaluated before it becomes a bigger issue.

We offer FREE onsite evaluations throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

"My basement has been dry for years. Why is it leaking now?"

Just because your basement has always stayed dry doesn't mean it always will.

Here are a few common reasons water can suddenly start finding its way inside:

✔️ Heavy rainfall increases groundwater pressure around your foundation, forcing water through even the smallest openings.

✔️ Foundation cracks can slowly expand over time due to normal settling and seasonal freeze/thaw cycles.

✔️ Poor grading or clogged gutters can direct thousands of gallons of water toward your home's foundation instead of away from it.

The good news? Catching the problem early is usually much easier—and less expensive—than waiting until it becomes a major issue.

If you've noticed new water in your basement, don't wait for the next storm.
