Job description
Well established design firm seeking an AutoCAD design drafter to support the staff in their development of design documentation based on conceptual / schematic designs, and the preparation of project construction documentation (production).
This rewarding career involves architectural drafting of rollout jobs to custom one-offs in a production-based environment.
Our primary platform is AutoCAD, but experience in any of Architectural Desktop, Revit, as well as graphic software such as 3D Home Architecture, Adobe Photo Shop and Goggle Sketch Up is a plus! We use mastery of AutoCAD software to produce highly accurate drawings to clearly communicate the design intent.
Provide support to the design process through preparation of complete, accurate working plans, charts, and scale drawings for complex projects, integrating skilled architectural/engineering drafting methods and procedures through the use of computer-aided design (CAD) equipment and software.
Objectives:
· Produce drawings in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to production standards
· Handle producing architectural working drawings
· Adhere to our corporate drafting standards and practices
· Produce drawings in accordance to specific account requirements and standards
· Target 90% billable productivity
· Maintain files and documentation per department protocols
· Interpret, and adapt specific program design standards to create and prepare detailed electronic (CAD) working plans, charts, and/or scale drawings for complex projects
· Ensure that all finished product is accurate, and complete
· Communicates as a team member with Senior Drafter, Designers, account managers, and limited communications with consultants as needed
· Actively communicate progress, and schedule implications to Senior Drafter daily
· Responsible for red lines, revisions and detailing
Required Experience:
· Three-year minimum AutoCAD experience (or CAD development/trade courses)
· Candidate should have a strong literacy in AutoCAD R2004 or later (AutoCAD 2019), and proven capability in its use to prepare Architectural design and construction documentation (drawings) under the direction of a Project Architect welcome)
· Proven ability to deliver highly accurate and clearly understood architectural working plans, charts, and scale drawings
· Proven competency in verbal and written communication
· Demonstrated computer drafting skills utilizing AutoCAD and other CAD software
· Demonstrated knowledge of architectural design drawings, drafting standards, and practices (a plus)
· Custom design experience (a plus)
