When Corey was chatting with a friend he brought up how we often miss the whole quote of a 'jack of all trades'. After looking into it a bit I found this article that reasonated with who he is and what our business looks like. I posted a while ago that we changed our name because Corey is so diverse in what he can do. He doesn't JUST remodel, he creates custom spaces and pieces. He can woodwork, plaster, drywall, tile, frame, build furniture, mill logs, do concrete, etc. The list goes on. So how do I communicate what he does to people asking? Well... A jack of all trades? I used to dislike this term because it made him sound like a sloppy handyman when he is a highly skilled and meticulous craftsman. However a jack of all trades is what makes Corey so different! His knowledge of different trades and how they are interconnected is so valuable when building. Yet, not just knowledge but the skills to execute them as well. There is no waiting for a sub to come in to do a job that he can't, he can quickly change hats and fill that role. But also take the time to do it right. He understands the importance of how, if done wrong, it snowballs and effects so many other things down the line. So, I will end my brag session here, thanks for reading and check out the whole quote below.
Oh and share with your AK friends 😘

"Jack of all trades has become somewhat of an insult, but it didn’t begin as one. The phrase was originally used to describe a playwright who was always hanging around the theatres. He would help with the stage, the set and the costumes. He would remember lines and try directing. This so-called jack of all trades was in fact William Shakespeare. The full phrase is “a jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.” It was a compliment. "
"Jack of all trades" has become somewhat of an insult, but it didn’t begin as one. Far from letting it deter their path, some entrepreneurs swear that being a jack of all trades is necessary.
