Help us in wishing Happy 20 years to Jose!

Jose is currently our swing shift lead, working in the forming and bisque firing department. Over the past 20 years, Jose has learned almost all the different forming processes we have. And that has translated into a lot of knowledge, experience, and problem-solving; especially with pressing, extruding, and kiln firing.

Jose is extremely detail oriented, and monitors a variety of forming processes very closely. But what has made Jose successful, is that he isn’t proprietary about his knowledge. He generously shares that knowledge with his team, and is a solid communicator.

This year marks a great milestone, and we are grateful to have Jose working with us these two decades (and counting).

We are very happy to share that Benny is celebrating 15 years with Sonoma Tilemakers. Benny has worked in many production areas, and on all three shifts, at one time or another. Benny currently works in the quality control department, reviewing bisque on swing shift. But Benny has also worked in glaze spraying, glaze making, and quality control for the finished product before going to our customers. Benny always brings enthusiasm, and levity to the production teams he works with.

We congratulate him for his ongoing contributions to the Sonoma Tilemakers team, these past 15 years.

15 years ago Mike Bowden joined our IT department and was an instant fit in the STM culture.
He brought with him a broad skillset and immediately began work on upgrading our network and other infrastructure.
Mike is always happy to jump in where needed and learn new skills, from operating our waterjet to programming to maintaining GL codes for financial reporting.
We have all experienced Mike’s skills at the grill as well. If you do get a chance to sample his cooking, be advised that Mike is a serious pepper head. If he tells you something isn’t spicy, you might want to get a second opinion!

Congratulations to Rafael on his 30 YEAR anniversary at Sonoma Tilemakers! What an incredible milestone. We are SO grateful to Rafael for all his hard work and dedication. He is truly a TILEMAKER! Starting in 1995 and all the way through to 2025, Rafael has worked in several departments including Shipping, Glaze Making, Set-Up, Spraying, and Kiln Operations. Over 12 years ago he became the Kiln QC Production Lead and then has been our amazing Production Supervisor for several years now. Rafael is easy to work with, always in a good mood, and treats everybody with respect. If a job needs to get done, he will do it. He takes great care with our Stellar tiles being made and thinks about how they can be made better, easier and more efficiently. His commitment and experience are unsurpassed. CONGRATULATIONS RAFAEL!
