➡️ Three things our team tackled to lay the groundwork for this kitchen transformation:

1. Extended an exterior wall 3 feet to accommodate the new layout. This required a structural engineer, careful attention to ceiling joist support, and ultimately the installation of a steel beam to carry the load from upstairs.

2. Relocated the home’s electrical meter to make the wall extension possible, coordinating with Duke Energy, our electrician, and the homeowners still living in the home.

3. Removed upper cabinets to open the wall and create seamless flow between the kitchen and sunroom.

The benefit or working with a full-service design-build firm like ICON? We juggled all these details, not the homeowner!

✨Sometimes spaces don’t need drastic changes — they just need a little TLC. That’s exactly what we did in the butler’s pantry of our Blue Ridge Mountain project, a 6,000 sq. ft. gut renovation of a home over 100 years old.

Butler Pantry Updates 👇

~ Restored original cabinets
~ Replaced the sink with a new one
~ Extended and matched countertops to the existing ones
~ Added an ice maker
~ Replaced tile floors with hardwood to match the rest of the home

Project check-in: We’re thrilled to be back at this repeat client’s home! Two bathroom updates are currently in progress—a guest bath and a main floor powder room.

Tile and paint are complete, with countertops scheduled for installation next week.
