Our team was tasked with helping upgrade the water system at a summer home on the lake, and this one had a few important pieces to it.

The scope of the job included running a new underground water line to pump water from the lake, along with reworking the water system so it’s easier to open and close for seasonal use. We also set things up with winter in mind, making it possible for the homeowners to use the property beyond just the warmer months.

At-home tip: If you don’t have a garbage disposal, be careful about what goes down your kitchen sink. To help prevent clogs, avoid rinsing food scraps down the drain and scrape plates into the trash before washing. Even small pieces can build up over time and slow everything down.

A few things to keep out of the sink:
Food scraps
Coffee grounds
Rice and pasta
Eggshells
Peels and skins

And whether you have a garbage disposal or not, grease, oil, and fibrous foods should stay out of the drain. Grease can harden inside your pipes, and fibrous foods can tangle up and cause blockages.

A look at a recent bathroom update where we removed the old shower and tub setup and helped get the new one connected properly.

Behind the finished look, there’s a lot of important plumbing work that needs to be done right. Our crew made sure the new shower and tub hookups were squared away so the space not only looks more updated, but functions the way it should.
