Zanesville Blasting is returning in 2025 under the name Z-BLAST Co.!
My father Doug Stotts founded his sandblasting company Zanesville Blasting in 1992, and for 26 years his company was the standard for the “Professional Stripper” industry in Ohio, as well as parts of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Indiana. For years, Zanesville Blasting was one of, if not the only mobile sandblasting and painting companies in the area. The quality and effort he put into the company’s work combined with the level of care and respect he had for his customers was what made Zanesville Blasting thrive for more than 25 years. It became his legacy.
In 2018, Doug passed away suddenly, leaving behind a business, an impact, and a legacy that is still felt and remembered to this day.
For the past six years, the idea of Zanesville Blasting being able to continue in some capacity had seemed like an impossibility to me and the people who knew and loved my dad. Through fate and the encouragement of family, I met my business partner Chase Wallace. Without him, you wouldn’t be reading this right now. Chase is the owner of a roofing/siding company, as well as a property restoration business. He knows the value of quality work, integrity, and his employees. Through the many work and personal stories, he has gotten to know a bit about my dad and his business & personal ethics. I know dad would like him.
Starting in 2025, I am proud to say that Doug’s legacy will carry on under the fitting name Z-BLAST Co. For anyone familiar with Zanesville Blasting, he would abbreviate the company name as “Z-Blast” on notes, tools, stickers, and many other things. When I was thinking about what to name this new iteration of the company, Z-BLAST was the one thing that was always there. It felt like home.
I can’t tell you how excited, anxious, happy, and grateful I am to finally be able to share this with all of you. I know there is going to be a lot of hard work in the coming days, a lot of questions to answer, problems to solve, and sand to shake out of our pockets, but I assure you, I’m here for it. I hope you’ll join me on this ride. Time to go fill the sand pot.
