Scilla siberica - Siberian Squill. This dainty spring flower is one of the first to show its adorable face. By planting its small bulbs in the fall you get to enjoy its beautiful indigo blooms early in the spring. They are very cold hardy and spread by bulb off shoot and self seeding. This is a great flower to plant in your yard, under trees, or in any area you want spring color. The foliage blends in with grass and you can mow right over them when they're done blooming. Oh, and the bees love them! This amazing planting in the photos is at the west side dog park right by the creek. These were once part of someone's landscape before the 72 flood. I wish I could thank whoever planted them and tell them how much they've spread and thrived. Flower knowledge is my jam and I'm here if you need help with your gardens and landscapes.
