We’re Hiring: Pre-Contract Project Engineer | Demand Civil Pty Ltd

Demand Civil is a growing civil construction company based in Queensland, delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions across roads, drainage, utilities, subdivisions, and urban developments. We are seeking an experienced Pre-Contract Project Engineer to support our tender planning and client engagement activities.

We are particularly looking for candidates who have worked closely with property developers and commercial or residential builders, and understand the planning, coordination, and delivery requirements of development-driven projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed construction programs using MS Project or Primavera
- Develop resource allocation plans (labour, plant, and materials)
- Review drawings, specifications, and development conditions to support accurate pricing and methodology
- Perform quantity take-offs and assist with cost planning and tender submissions
- Attend tender meetings, site inspections, and pre-award discussions with clients
- Maintain regular communication with clients, developers, and builder representatives
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships to support repeat business opportunities
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers during the pre-contract phase
- Identify project risks, staging constraints, and service coordination challenges
- Develop construction methodologies for civil works including subdivision and building interface works
- Prepare procurement schedules and support project mobilisation planning

Requirements:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in civil infrastructure for land development, commercial, or residential projects
- Proven experience working with property developers, project builders, or development consultants
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing around building programs and site constraints
- Proficiency in MS Project / Primavera P6 and Excel
- Strong commercial awareness, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced tender environment

WE’RE HIRING – CIVIL TEAM (Supervisor + Operators)

Demand Civil Pty Ltd is expanding and we’re looking for reliable, safety-focused people to join our crew across Brisbane & Regional QLD. We deliver civil works including earthworks, drainage, pits, pavements, concrete and associated civil packages.

1) Civil Site Supervisor

Role summary: Run day-to-day site operations, lead crews/subbies, and drive safety, quality and productivity.

Key duties:
• Supervise earthworks, drainage, pavements, concrete and services works
• Coordinate plant, materials, deliveries, subcontractors and traffic management
• Conduct prestarts/toolboxes, ensure SWMS/WHS compliance, and maintain site reporting (diaries/photos)
• Manage QA/ITPs, hold points, coordinate basic set-out requirements and capture as-built information
• Liaise with clients/suppliers and manage short-term planning/program targets

Ideal background:
• Proven civil supervision experience with strong leadership and communication
• Solid understanding of drawings/specs, QA systems and WHS obligations
• White Card (required)

Desirable (preferred, not mandatory):
• QBCC Open Licence
• Demolition licence

2) Excavator Operator (Civil)

Role summary: Experienced operator for trenching, final trim, loading and civil support.

Key duties:
• Bulk/detailed excavation, trenching, drainage/pit works, loading out
• Work safely around services and within site controls
• Daily machine checks and basic maintenance reporting

Requirements:
• Excavator ticket + civil experience
• White Card (required)
• GPS (Topcon/Trimble) highly regarded

3) HR Tipper Truck Operator

Role summary: HR tipper operator supporting civil production with cartage and site deliveries.

Key duties:
• Cart spoil, quarry materials and site deliveries
• Safe loading/tipping procedures and load restraint compliance
• Daily pre-start checks, basic dockets/records as required

Requirements:
• HR licence (minimum) + tipper experience preferred
• White Card (required)
• HC licence highly regarded

Demand Civil is looking for an experienced HR Tipper Operator to join our growing team across civil and drainage projects in South East Queensland.

What you’ll be doing:
• Operate HR tipper for bulk haulage (soil, gravel, quarry products, spoil)
• Site haulage, loading/unloading and safe tipping procedures
• Daily pre-starts, basic maintenance checks, and defect reporting
• Work closely with supervisors and plant operators to keep production moving
• Comply with WHS requirements and site rules at all times

What we’re looking for:
• HR licence (essential) with proven tipper experience
• Civil construction / earthworks experience preferred
• Strong safety mindset and reliability
• Able to pass site requirements (e.g., medical / D&A if required)
• Full working rights in Australia

Highly regarded:
• White Card
• RII tickets (e.g., Roller/Loader/Excavator) or Multi-skilled operator experience
