G'day guys! Little bit of work with steppers assisting Waterwise Landscaping Pty Ltd today.

Steppers don't have to be hard! plop 'em on top of some mulch and achieve this look.

Hot Tip of the day: How to Align Steppers....

Today we used some off cut PVC to make a DIY spacer to ensure the pavers are lined up both on the Y and X axis
Y axis = 200mm from each paver
X axis = about 400m from the fence or wall (depending on the size of the space)

Obviously not everyone has odd bits of PVC laying about but this neat method can be applied to all sorts of medium, sticks, bricks or just a simple measuring tape.

Today I assisted Waterwise Landscaping Pty Ltd with this job. This company is responsible for a grand deal of my knowledge in this field. It is a privilege to work with Waterwise as they are all awesome blokes and I always learn something with them. If there's a job I cant do for you I will no doubt guide you towards Waterwise.

Thanks Folks!

Have a safe and excellent weekend!

Bit of a make over with this one. Goodbye winter w**ds, hello w**d mat and red mulch.

Hot Tip of the Day: Weathers getting warmer now time to start sowing spring herbs fruit and vegies. For WA climates these can include

For herbs we have;
Chilli, Oregano, Dill, Ginger, Mint, Basil and Chives

And for Fruits and Vegetables we have;
Zucchini, Lettuce, Corn, Eggplant, Tomato, Beetroot, Radish, Silver beet, Pumpkin, Cucumber, Melons, Chinese Cabbage, Celery, Carrot, Capsicum and Leek.

Heaps of options to choose from, I have the most success with Water melons. Heaps of fun and great for kids to see a typical looking vine create a 5 kilogram fruit!

Some times the only option is to dig it all up, toss and till the soil. Its hard work but its a good reset button. Nice place to work at with the Kookaburras laughter and the occasional roo.

Hot Tip - Sometimes the easy route isn't the most effective. To get ahead of w**ds (especially grasses) it is sometimes necessary to till the soil.

This process requires uprooting the first 5 cm of soil leaving sods of soil and w**d. Rake the uprooted sods to displace and redistribute the soil trapped in the w**d roots, then gather the left over w**ds for disposal and smooth over the beds. This is an arduous process and requires a bit of brunt but it can save you time and effort in the future!

Little quick whip snip tidy up today and of course..

Todays Hot Tip..

Each year an average sized garden with enough neglect can grow a ton of w**ds and they've got to go somewhere.

A handy idea is to designate a compost pile, now these aren't lookers so they're best placed in a nook or cranny of the property, but they can be an easy set, till and forget option for w**d disposal.

This way you're composting all the nutrient those w**ds sucked out of your garden and eventually you'll be able to put it back in once the compost is ready!

But remember! never chuck any w**ds in that compost pile that are seeding! this defeats the whole purpose.

Its amazing what a bit of mulch and a couple of pavers can do. I got lucky with this job as I had a lot of help from the client, loads of fun & happy how it turned out.

Hot Tip of the Day: If you're in the City of Wanneroo you can collect 2 free trailers full of mulch from the Recycle Center on observation road in Wangara.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

Hey guys thanks for liking and sharing the page! With your joint effort I've now got a few more clients!

As such I've decided to give a gardening tip for you all :)

Our West Aussie soil or more rather West Aussie sand is just that basically.. beach sand! If you plan to grow a vege garden or exotic fruit bearing trees please take into account your sandy substrates (some inland suburbs closer to hills have it better off).

I recommend tilling over the soil with a good dose of animal manure, leaf litter and mulch. Repeat this process every 6 months or yearly depending on the situation of your soil and I reckon you'll be a happy owner of vege friendly soil.

Now our native soils have been the way they are for eons so it will take a bit of dedication and potentially years of treating the soil. Whats an easier solution? grow natives!

Thanks folks
