The temperatures are warming up and the ticks are on the move. Be sure to check your pets and loved ones after being outside. During the spring time more often you will see "NYMPH" ticks, like the nymph deer ticks pictured below. These are the smaller ones and are the leading cause of Lyme disease, simply because if you are bitten they are more difficult to see and feel and may stay attached for longer. The temperature is dropping and the ticks will be on the move again. Be sure to start doing tick checks again on your family and pets! Fall treatment is just as important as spring treatment! In the fall the big adult ticks will be out in search of a blood meal, so that they can lay their eggs for spring. An adult female tick can lay between 2,000-5,000 eggs by herself. So trying to eliminate them before they can lay their eggs is crucial! For existing customers if I have not already been in touch with you about scheduling for your fall treatment I will be very shortly.
