Had an awesome time at the ecological restoration workshop hosted by the Lyceum at Silo City and Tifft Nature Preserve. Always looking to the ecologists and scientists for ways to be better in what we do. Here is Ryan planting an American Hazelnut (his favorite) at the Tifft Nature Preserve. The Husqvarna T540ixp ripping through an 18” trunk, battery tools have come a long way. Adding this chainsaw to our electric tool lineup provides lighter tools, less emissions, more safety and easier communication on jobs.

Seasonal color, low maintenance garden powered by perennials, native shrubs and host species playing their role in the pollination process.. This project was completed in summer of 2019, 2 years later we could be happier with how things filled in.

Quality partnerships and patience on the larger jobs makes the work that much easier. Thanks for the help JASCO Excavating!

Total overhaul of existing grass and gardens. Removed to make way for a low maintenance, seasonal color, pollinator friendly landscape.

Team has tended to the gardens with clients help over the years and the transformation has been something to observe along the way.

Before and after photos on a small portion of a project the team has been hard at work at for several weeks. Ferns along along South facing fence removed to make way for native plantings.

Plantings include 3 Heptacodium miconiodes trees, oakleaf hydrangea and hypericum ground cover. Lighting work to follow.

In our ten plus years of being in business, we have come to one very important conclusion:
-Sustainable landscapes are not built in an afternoon. These pictures detail a process. It is the process of using biodegradable materials to smother grass and prepare the site for planting. Working in collaboration with nature to achieve great things.

Spring ephemerals!
Snowdrop anemone -Anemone sylvestris- graceful in form with delicate white petals and yellow anthers.
Virginia Bluebells -Mertensia virginica- A favorite of the hummingbird moth.
Great white trillium -Trillium grandiflora- native to the Eastern Parts of North America.

Getting ready for the season at a Bare root plant sale this morning.

Planting bare root is cheaper and promotes a stronger, healthier plant as a result of limited exposure to chemicals used to accelerate growth in traditional nursery plants 4-5 years old.
