*World 🌎 Arbor day Celebrations*
Today, on the eve of World Arbor Day, the employees of Forest Division Anantnag planted a conifer sapling in the backyard of Forest Complex Anantnag. It was just a humble yet profound act of love for our mother Earth on this Special Day. However, we should remember that this tiny sapling is more than just a plant; it’s a symbol of hope, growth, and our sacred duty towards nature, Almighty Allah has entrusted upon us. I Pray to Allah that as long as its roots immerse deep into the soil, may our faith deepen in the Divine promise of peace and Prosperity. Let’s drew inspiration from this simple act and each of us plant seeds of kindness, compassion, and unity in our hearts and communities. Together, let’s grow a forest of blessings upon each other. May this day remind us to care for nature and each other with devotion and grace.

Today on 29/6/24 Forest Protection Force Anantnag, and Forest officials of Kuthar Forest Range, conducted a comprehensive area dominance march and awareness campaign in the Chittergul Forest Block of the Kuthar Forest Range. This significant event commenced from Panchalthan and concluded at Methmoh about 11 kms track passing through Sanglan, Wuzkha, Labnan, Chowgam, Sunglan, and Har Sunglan areas.

The march, which included 80 personnel from both the Forest Department and the FPF, was jointly led by Range Officer Kuthar and the Assistant Director FPF KO5. Throughout the march, the team engaged with various segments of the local community, including religious heads and other respected individuals, to solicit their cooperation for better forest protection. The discussions emphasized several critical issues, including the damage to pole crop by local women while collecting firewood, lopping of forest trees, forest encroachments, and forest fires.

The local respectable persons appreciated the initiative and called upon the community to extend full cooperation to the department in its efforts to protect the forests. The team also destroyed cannabis (bhang) at various locations and issued stern warnings against its cultivation.

International Day of Forests celebrated in Forest Division Anantnag under the theme Forests and Innovation *"New Solutions for a better world"*
On the occasion of the International Day of Forests, Forest Division Anantnag embraced this theme Forests and Innovation *"New Solutions for a Better World"* under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Mudasir Mehmood Malik, the Divisional Forest Officer Anantnag. This celebration marked a significant step towards promoting environmental consciousness and innovative approaches to Forest conservation. Throughout the day, a series of impactful activities were organized across various Forest Ranges within the Anantnag Forest Division. Plantation drives took center stage, as Forest officers/Officials, volunteers and local PRI's joined hands to replenish the green cover of Kashmir. Through these efforts, not only tree saplings were implanted, but also a message of responsibility and stewardship towards nature was conveyed to all participants. A number of students and other nature lovers participated in these plantation program's. Prominent plantation programs among all were held in Forest Range Kokernag where the Range Officer kokernag Mr. Farooq Ahmad Mir implanted various conifer plant species in the gathering of students at various forest areas and educational institutions at kokernag, bidder, sagam and other places.
In parallel, cleanliness drives were conducted to rid the forest areas of litter and debris, ensuring that the natural beauty of the landscape remains unmarred. Participants engaged in collective efforts to clean up the surroundings, highlighting the importance of maintaining pristine environments for the well-being of both flora and fauna. Furthermore, awareness programs were also held to educate common people about the significance of forests in mitigating climate change, preserving biodiversity, and providing essential ecosystem services to the people. Through these interactive sessions and informative workshops, attendees gained insights into innovative solutions for sustainable forest management and conservation practices.
The steadfast leadership of *Mr. Mudasir Mehmood Malik (DFO Anantnag)* and his commitment to environmental stewardship were instrumental in orchestrating these initiatives, inspiring a sense of unity and purpose among participants. His vision for a green, clean and sustainable future resonated deeply with all these involved, drives.
