Job Responsibilities:
-Repair electrical issues by replacing or installing components, wiring or devices
-Determine the steps necessary to assess an electrical situation using testing devices, blueprints and maps
-Performs skilled tasks in installation, maintenance, preventative maintenance, trouble shooting and repair of interior and exterior wiring systems, transformers, switching equipment, relays, motors, lights and other electrical and electronic systems and equipment
-Lays out, assembles, installs, repairs, maintains, connects and tests electrical/electronic systems/equipment
-Use of ladders, scaffolding, platforms and lifts to work on electrical systems in residential homes, commercial and industrial properties
-Prepares sketches and specifications, maintains accurate records, requisitions materials, completes written reports by hand
-May oversee the work of contractors and provides work direction and training to other staff to ensure compliance to standards and specifications.
-Receives daily work orders and organizes work in order to complete in an expeditious manner, including determining the necessary materials and equipment.
-Utilizes a variety of tools/equipment and is responsible for their maintenance
-Performs a variety of skilled work not requiring the services of other licensed trades
-Travels to various work locations
-Installation and maintenance of electrical systems in residential, commercial and industrial facilities
-Performs work in adverse work environments, including year-round outdoor conditions, confined space using appropriate safety devices and procedures.
Job Skills and Qualifications:
-License - 309A Electrician: Construction and Maintenance (commercial, residential and industrial experience)
reading and interpreting drawings and electrical code specifications
-Communicating effectively as a member of a team with supervisors and other skilled tradespeople
working on a variety of different projects and tasks
-Experience with the use and installation of ‘smart’ technology
-Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects
-Test installed/repaired/modified equipment for proper performance
-Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
-Team collaboration and partnership on complex, deadline-driven projects
-Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to occupational health and safety regulations
-Assist in preparing preventative and predictive maintenance schedules
-Valid G driver's license
-Professional with great customer service skills
-Good communicator, both written and verbal
-Problem-solving driven by excellent analytical skills and deep technical knowledge
-Ability to work within a team environment
-Ability to run and manage own projects
-Attention to detail essential
-Good housekeeping
-Confident dealing with different levels within an organization
