Just realized we forgot a post!

🛣️ Day 6: Homeward Bound & Blizzard Bound ❄️

The final stretch. What's "just" a 9-hour drive home when you've already conquered countless miles, weathered storms, and navigated the time warp of Ferdinand, Indiana? Remarkably, we're still speaking to each other, and our spirits are high—fueled, in no small part, by Dairy Queen Blizzards. Because at this point, Blizzards aren't just a treat; they're essential fuel for the soul.

🍦 Lunch of Champions:
Who knew that ice cream could feel so much like victory? Or that a Blizzard in the car could taste like the sweet culmination of an epic journey? It's these small moments of joy that have punctuated our adventure, reminding us that sometimes, it's the simplest pleasures that mean the most.

🏡 Roanoke, We're Home:
As we roll back into Roanoke, there's a collective sigh of relief and a burst of anticipation. We're excited to be back where it all began, surrounded by our families, ready to reconnect with our clients, and energized to pour everything we've learned and experienced into our business.

With fresh perspectives and renewed vigor, we're more ready than ever to get back to designing, building, and growing. 🚙 Day 5: Dodging Storms and Time Zones ⏳

"Nothing to see here," says every road tripper, ever, on that inevitable stretch where the road ahead is all you have. Today was our turn—North Platte, WY to Ferdinand, IN, with our eyes glued to the radar, playing a strategic game of storm dodgeball across state lines.

🌀 Chasing Calm, Finding Chaos:
Despite Mother Nature's best efforts to spice up our journey, the real entertainment was inside the car. Five days in, and our sense of humor isn't just intact; it's thriving. Who knew endless roads and impending weather could bring out our best jokes and laughs?

🌪️ Ferdinand: Where Time Stands Still (Sort Of):
Arriving in Ferdinand felt like stepping into a time warp—literally. With the hotel on Eastern Time and the parking lot apparently on Central Time, we've concluded that time zones are more suggestions than rules here. But after all this driving, who's counting?

🚪 The Force Awakens... Every Time the Door Opens:
Our room, strategically placed above the hotel's entrance, turned every guest's arrival and departure into a cinematic event, courtesy of Luke Skywalker's lightsaber. Yes, that "vwoom-vwoom" wasn’t in our heads. As it turns out, sleep may just be a galaxy far, far away tonight.

So here we are, making memories in the most unexpected places, laughing our way through the fatigue, and somehow still excited about what tomorrow brings. Because, at the end of the day, it’s the journey, the company, and maybe a few lightsaber duels that make this all worthwhile.

🌅 Day 4: Morning Insights and Homeward Bound 🚗

Bright and early, we were back at SnapSports from 8 am to 11 am, soaking up every last bit of knowledge. Today solidified our confidence in their innovative approach and exceptional products, as we had the chance to meet with their in-house installation manager. The depth of expertise here is just phenomenal.

🎁 Loaded with Goodies:
Our car is now brimming with samples - the tangible fruits of our long drive. But that's not all; we've also been approved to offer RaceDeck garage flooring. Bringing this quality back to Roanoke, Virginia, feels like we're carrying treasure across state lines.

🌨️ Racing Against the Weather:
We would have lingered, delving deeper into the world of SnapSports, but the weather had other plans. With snowstorms encroaching and three days of driving ahead of us, it was time to bid farewell.

🛣️ Looking Ahead:
As we set off, our minds buzz with plans for integrating these new offerings. SnapSports has not only equipped us with materials but bolstered our enthusiasm and ideas for the future.

🌤️➡️❄️➡️🌫️ Day Three: Weather Roulette and SnapSports Warmth 🏭

Salt Lake City greeted us with sunshine, snow, and fog—all within an hour! If you ever need a crash course in weather preparedness, this is the place. But the real forecast of the day was a warm welcome at SnapSports headquarters.

🤝 Meeting the Team:
Our training kicked off with Jeremiah, who gave us the grand tour of the plant. We dove into the world of injection molding machines, which were as mesmerizing as they are efficient, churning out parts like there's no tomorrow.

Lunch with Chris, the national sales manager, felt more like a family gathering than a business meeting. And that’s saying something, considering SnapSports’ impressive lineage under Gerfloor.

📈 Synchronizing Strategies:
Our session with Lauren in marketing was about aligning our stars—or rather, our marketing strategies. Groundbreaking? Maybe not. Essential? Absolutely.

🗣️ The Dynamic Duo:
Jeff remarked on my inability to stop talking. I pointed out his stoic silence. Just another day in the life of business partners navigating the vendor seas.

👨‍👨‍👧‍👦 Family Vibes:
What struck us most was the family atmosphere at SnapSports. Warm, inviting, and eager to include us in their circle, they made us feel right at home.

No groundbreaking revelations today, just the solid foundation of a partnership built on mutual respect and shared goals. And maybe, learning to appreciate each other's quirks a little more.

Here’s to not killing each other yet and to many more miles (and weather patterns) on this journey of ours.

🚘 Day Two: The Great American Straight Line 🌄

14.5 hours. One direction: forward. Our mission: From Kansas City to Evanston, WY, in what can only be described as a marathon of windshield appreciation and temperature drop acclimatization.

🌡️ From Toasty to Frosty:
Watching the thermometer drop was like tracking our slow-motion descent into a cooler, drier realm as we ventured on. "Are we there yet?" morphed into a mantra, keeping time with the changing elevation.

🏞️ Scenic Views? Well...:
If you've ever wondered about the vast expanses of nothingness, we've become somewhat of an unintentional expert. Today’s journey was less about the sights and more about the vast, unchanging line of the horizon. It's mesmerizing, in a "watching paint dry" way, but with more moving parts.

📉 Elevation: A Subtle Thrill:
The real excitement? Elevation changes. Oh yes, we went there—literally and figuratively. Climbing from Kansas City to Evanston, we experienced the subtle thrill of going from approximately 910 ft to 6,749 ft above sea level. It's like a rollercoaster if it is gently inclined over several hours and offers no loops.

💤 Highlight of the Day:
Best part? Arguably, the moment we realized we could blame the yawns on the elevation change and not our riveting conversations.

As we tuck in for the night, we can't help but marvel at the journey so far. It's not every day you drive in a straight line and find so much to (not) see. Tomorrow promises more adventures, and who knows? Maybe a curve or two.

🚗 Day Two: From Roanoke to... Roanoke? 🤔
14.5 hours, countless miles, and who knows how many snacks later, we found ourselves in a familiar-sounding place - Roanoke Park, Kansas City. But before you ask, no, we didn’t just drive in a big circle. We're on a mission, remember?
🎾 A Tale of Two Roanokes:
After all that driving, we were hoping for a grand welcome. Instead, we got a nostalgic reminder of home—courts that, much like their Roanoke, VA cousins, have seen better days. The universe has a sense of humor, giving us a cross-country trip just to show us cracked tennis and pickleball courts needing some love. Talk about déjà vu!
😄 The Humor in Our Journey:
If today taught us anything, it’s that no matter how far you go, some things remain comfortingly (or hilariously) the same. And yes, we're staying at a Comfort Inn—coincidence? I think not.
So, here’s to finding the unexpected, embracing the quirks of the road, and remembering that sometimes the destination gives you a good chuckle and a gentle nudge toward the work you love. We set off again tomorrow, probably not finding another Roanoke, but who knows what’s out there?
