This week we begin a new project. Repainting cabinets, walls,trim and doors.

It was unfortunate to find that the previous homeowner decided to paint these cabinets without prepping or priming at all! Every door and box will need to be completely stripped as you could easily take your finger nail and remove the paint from them.

We will strip/clean. Sand and then spray a bonding primer followed by 2 coats of Emerald urethane enamel to make these look brand new again.

We are cedar siding specialists. Pro edge painting and lotz custom carpentry have created a system over the years that guarantees the best possible product to your exterior.

We don’t just repaint your siding and replace a rotten board here or there, we do a thorough multi-phased inspection.

1- Initial estimate/sales walk. We inspect and note any obvious boards that are cracked through, cupped or that have wet rot. We provide an allowance of x amount of boards that we know need to be replaced. (This helps the homeowner to get a ballpark idea of what’s needed)
2- After power washing the siding/trim and while we are scraping loose peeling paint areas we mark out all boards that we now know 💯 need to be addressed as we are touching each sq inch of the home. Next we call a meeting with the homeowner and walk the exterior and show them our findings. Together we agree upon which boards are of absolute need to replace and which can stay and be treated to extend their life.
3- Once we land on an official number the material is ordered and delivered on site where we prime all sides to ensure completely sealing before installing on the home.
4- all seams and unions of trim and siding are caulked with the best quality exterior caulking on the market.
5- any areas that are peeling are scraped and then power sanded until we reach a solid substrate. Afterwards we re rinse the siding to remove sanding dust.
6-finally the cedar is painted 2x with a solid body stain most suitable for cedar to breathe and prevent peeling in the future.
