Choosing Windows for Historic Homes in Pasadena

Replacing windows in a historic home is about more than upgrading glass it’s about preserving the original character, proportions, and architectural charm that make these homes timeless.

In Pasadena, historic Craftsman, Spanish Revival, and Tudor homes often benefit from warmer finishes like bronze, brown, sage green, and soft black paired with traditional grid patterns. The right window design can improve energy efficiency and comfort while still respecting the home’s historic architecture and curb appeal.

Best Window Colors for Spanish Style Homes in Altadena

Choosing the right window color is key to preserving the warmth, charm, and architectural character of a Spanish style home.

In Altadena and across Los Angeles, the most requested finishes are sage green, brown/bronze, and black. Sage green offers a soft, timeless feel that blends beautifully with stucco and landscaping. Brown and bronze tones create a warm, classic Mediterranean look. Black windows can also work when paired with traditional grid patterns to maintain the home’s original character.

We have been waiting to share this one.

This project has been one of those jobs where everything just clicked!
the client trusted the process, we trusted the design, and the result is something we are genuinely proud of.

Deep green aluminum clad windows with a white interior. Champagne hardware. And that arch top front door with the two matching arch windows sitting right beside it.

That green is bold. It is confident. And it works so beautifully with the style of this studio build.

But honestly? That front door gets us every time. There is something about an arch that never goes out of style.
Paired with those two side arch windows it becomes more than a door it becomes the heart of the whole exterior.

This is the kind of collaboration we love two teams that care about the details.
