A Live Edge by Lucie Jelinkova I've recently started dabbling in small-scale woodworking as a way to re-introduce some creativity into my daily life.

A live edge refers to the natural character of wood, incorporating it with my own ideas to create one-of-a-kind pieces. Recently, the everyday stress of work and school have driven me to realize how much I crave creativity in my life and to keep me from going bonkers, one day I picked up a piece of wood and a saw and started working. I appreciate the natural beauty of wood and I enjoy finding ways

to utilize that quality in my own designs. It provides me with a great feeling of emotional rejuvenation and an outlet from mundane worries and mental exhaustion. It also turns out that operating noisy, aggressive power tools is a fabulous stress reliever. Deadlines and emails suddenly become quite irrelevant when you're focusing on not grinding your fingers right off...
