Greetings! Welcome to my new page :)
I will be adding project photos over the coming days, but first a brief overview of myself to help you understand the person you'd be having in your home to undertake your various tasks.
Prior to 2009 I had my own successful property renovation business for more than a decade right here in SW London, serving all of the surrounding areas. We specialised in parquet floor restoration and had a team of highly skilled professionals to carry out most types of building and renovation works in the home.
My wife & I decided on a change of lifestyle whilst we were still young. So we rented out our home and headed to the mountains of Southern Spain, where we spent the next 13 years building and developing an off-grid cave house complex on our 5 hectares of land and turning a once barren, arid landscape in to lush fields and orchards thriving with nature. Oh and we thought running a non-profit animal rescue centre at the same time was a great idea!
In 2022 we moved from Spain to Ireland to have another adventure and a break from the sun whilst we waited for our tenancy contracts to end. Several more experiences later we're now back in our old home in SW London where it all started.
Now that we are settled back in to London life it's time to restart JMS Renovations and in the first instance, offer myself as a general handyman, amongst other services.
Having been a landlord for 16 years, an international one at that, I have a unique understanding of the difficulties in finding honest, reliable and trustworthy tradesmen to carry out your various jobs, even simple ones.
I lost count how many times a 'trade-checked' Co carried out works for us but actually didn't complete what they were paid for, or only to a very poor standard, with just some creative photography as evidence. And being overseas you can't just pop round to verify and you absolutely cannot rely on your tenants to provide you the professional assessment that you need.
So one thing you can expect from me is that I am going to offer transparency and communication to especially help those who cannot be on site to check on the works. I will send you regular updates by text/telegram/whatsapp so you know what's going on in your home. If you already have a builder planned for a project and want an independent eye cast over the works so you get the standard of works you were hoping for, no problem, I'll be that person for you. I can even do this out of hours for you to avoid any potential conflicts that may arise from your new found knowledge!
Oh and I'm going to be fair and very reasonable with my charges too. No hidden call out fees, affordable hourly, day or half day rates and no travel costs, except for parking.
