The Yemeni Government has declared Socotra as a disaster zone. For the third day heavy rains and strong winds are still storming the island. As a-result, hundreds of families have lost their shelters and dozens reported missing. These reports are only coming from Hadiboh the capital and Qalansiyah where mobile coverage are only working. Damaged roads prevented reach to remote areas where the majority of people are located. The Governorate officials and local people are facing this disaster with the least possibilities and weak infrastructure one can imagine. The cyclone is expected to steadily leave the island as its effect has already reached the Omani Coast of Salalah. The after affect in Socotra will surly result in devastating damages to lives, properties and environment. Your prayers are needed.

Hurricane Makono is still showering Socotra with heavy rains and strong wind. Dozens missing and hundreds are displaced due to strong floods. The hurricane is expected to shift its direction towards Salalah, Oman by the end of Thursday.

Socotra is facing another deadly hurricane (Makono). Heavy rain and wind stormed the island since Wednesday morning up to this moment non-stop. Forecasts show that the hurricane will remain active until Thursday as the storm will steadily shift towards Salalah, Oman. Up to now, Around 17 people are missing, 3 ships sank, and around 200 people reported displaced. This is the third hurricane since the last deadly hurricanes (Chapalla & Meag) that hit the Archipelago in one week in November 2015.

Tens of Dolphins were found dead by the shore at Detwah PA beach few days a go seen to have swam out!. The same thing has happend in 2004 at Shuab beach and back in 1984 in Hadiboh beach. Does anyone have an explanation for this strange phenomina in which Dolphins swim out of the sea in a more like " suicidal act"?
