Stay cool in hot, dry climates — without killing your batteries. CoolCamper 12V cooling units keeping your camping vehicle or luxury tent cool at those hot dry summer locations. Our coolers operate with 12V power supply at low power consumption enabling long term off grid use. Based on evaporative theory, a large volume of clean, cool and humidified air is delivered to ventilate hot air through windows and doors. The lightweight fixed installed design of various models will meet most installation requirements. Water and power supply is integrated with the camping vehicle's systems and automated by the unit controls to provide a convenient solution requiring little effort to use.

You head out to escape the everyday routine, find a beautiful remote spot and enjoy the freedom of being off-grid.

Then the afternoon heat builds up inside your caravan or camping setup. A fan moves the air around, but sometimes that just isn't enough.

Too hot? That’s just camping… right?

We’ve become pretty good at accepting the heat.

Beautiful campsite.
Perfect weather.
Everything set up.

Then the afternoon sun arrives, the tent or caravan heats up, and suddenly you're looking for shade, opening every window and hoping for a breeze.

At night, you're lying awake because it’s still hot.

A fan helps move the air around.
A 220V air conditioner can cool you down — if you have the power for it.

But when you’re camping off-grid, those aren't always practical options.

Maybe being uncomfortably hot doesn't have to be “just part of camping” anymore.

Sometimes you don't need to go far.
You just need to get away.

This long weekend was about exactly that — a quiet, secluded stand, proper off-grid camping, and a few days with nowhere to be and nothing that needed doing.

No crowds.
No schedule.
No city noise.

Just the bush and some time to switch off.

We spent the weekend at Thabaphaswa Mountain Sanctuary — a beautiful, well-maintained spot that we'd happily recommend for a relaxed weekend of proper off-grid camping.

That's what off-grid camping is really about.
