Here in Johannesburg, through the generosity of our sponsors and food partners, Beresh*th receives surplus food which we distribute to everyday people and families in our communities who are in need. We are grateful for every contribution that allows us to turn what has been given to us into a blessing for someone else.
What you see in these videos is more than farming.

It is recovery in action.

Progress, Growth and the Journey Towards Sustainability

Beresh*th Pomeroy Farm continues to grow from strength to strength, and what was once a vision is becoming a living testimony of restoration, productivity, food security and sustainability.

Our farm is not only a place of recovery for 30 adult men; it is becoming a productive agricultural project with the potential to support our Beresh*th centres and the surrounding communities for years to come.

🌱 Harvesting and Agricultural Production

We are pleased to report that we have begun harvesting potatoes and ginger, with portions of the harvest being prepared for resale. This is an important milestone for the farm as we work towards generating income and developing sustainable revenue streams.

Alongside our larger crops, our smaller vegetable garden is also producing an encouraging variety of fresh vegetables, including:

- Cabbages
- Cauliflower
- Beans
- Beetroot
- Spinach
- Tomatoes
- String beans
- Peas

Our livestock project is also progressing well, with our chickens laying eggs daily, providing a consistent source of fresh produce while contributing to the overall agricultural sustainability of the farm.

👨‍🌾 Recovery Through Purpose and Responsibility

Agriculture is an important part of the recovery journey at Beresh*th Pomeroy Farm.

The beneficiaries participate actively in the day-to-day care and development of the farm. They assist with maintaining and cleaning the areas surrounding the living spaces, cutting grass, tending to crops, caring for the livestock and contributing to the ongoing development projects on the farm.

This work provides more than physical activity. It creates responsibility, discipline, structure, teamwork and a sense of ownership.

The men are given an opportunity to see the fruit of their own labour. A seed is planted, it is nurtured, it grows, and eventually it produces a harvest. In many ways, this mirrors their own journey of recovery and restoration.

🥬 Building Food Security

One of our key objectives is to use the agricultural production of Pomeroy Farm to help provide food security for our Beresh*th centres in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.

In uncertain economic times, being able to grow our own food is not simply an agricultural achievement—it is an investment in the sustainability and resilience of our organisation.

As production increases, we also envision the farm becoming a source of fresh produce that can benefit the villages and communities surrounding Pomeroy.

Our vision is to grow beyond meeting our own needs and, where possible, become a resource that contributes towards the wellbeing and food security of those around us.

🌾 Our Vision for Sustainability

Our ultimate aim is to develop Beresh*th Pomeroy Farm into a self-sustaining agricultural project.

We are working towards a model where the farm can:

Feed our recovery centres → Generate income through the sale of produce → Create meaningful work and skills → Support the surrounding villages → Strengthen the long-term sustainability of Beresh*th.

Every crop planted, every harvest gathered and every project completed brings us one step closer to this vision.

We believe that sustainability is not built overnight. It is built through faith, hard work, commitment, good stewardship and the willingness to start with what is already in our hands.

🙏 A Place of Restoration

At the heart of everything we do at Pomeroy is restoration.

We run a Christ-centred 12-Step recovery programme grounded in the Word of God. Recovery is supported through prayer, intercession, fellowship, discipleship and Sunday worship.

The farm therefore represents much more than agriculture.

We are planting crops, but we are also planting hope.
We are cultivating the soil, but we are also cultivating lives.
We are harvesting vegetables, but we are also witnessing the harvest of restored lives.

Beresh*th Pomeroy Farm is becoming a place where men can rediscover purpose, learn responsibility, develop practical skills and experience the dignity that comes from contributing meaningfully to something bigger than themselves.

Drug Awareness at Suidheuwils Primary School

On 11 August 2026, our Beresh*th Learner Wellness Team had the privilege of visiting Suidheuwils Primary School in Johannesburg for an important Drug Awareness programme.

These sessions were about more than simply talking about drugs. They were about raising awareness, educating and empowering our young people to understand the dangers and pitfalls of substance abuse and, most importantly, equipping them with the confidence and tools to SAY NO TO DRUGS, NO TO BULLYING AND NO TO PEER PRESSURE.

Our learners were encouraged to stand strong in the face of peer pressure, to make wise choices and to understand that one decision can have a lasting impact on their future.

We also reminded them that their education is a pathway to possibility. This season of their lives is an opportunity to learn, grow, discover their potential and set meaningful goals for their future.

Education is paramount in shaping young people into responsible adults who can become positive contributors to their families, communities and society.

💙🌟 TODAY WE HONOUR KESHNIE — 3 YEARS SOBER! 🌟💙

Today, Beresh*th Foundation celebrates a very special milestone as we honour Keshnie, who marks THREE YEARS of sobriety from ALL substances! 🎉🙌🏽

Keshnie's journey is one of courage, perseverance, resilience and transformation.

Before Beresh*th had a women's facility of our own, Keshnie was referred to QRRC a treatment facility that we had partner with. What began as a referral became the beginning of a remarkable journey—and today, she stands as a proud Beresh*th Honoree Recoveree. 💙

But Keshnie's achievement is about so much more than three years without substances.

It is about the woman she has chosen to become.

Women coming out of addiction often carry so many labels.

Addict.
Broken.
Untrustworthy.
Lost.
Damaged.

But Keshnie has refused to allow the labels of her past to define her future.

She has persevered.

She has chosen to remain connected to her church.

She continues to attend her support group.

She is proactive about her sobriety.

She continues to grow, learn, serve and build a life that reflects the woman she is becoming.

And that is what we celebrate today.

Every week we are reminded of something very important:

RECOVERY HAPPENS TOGETHER.

At Beresh*th Foundation, our support groups are not simply meetings where people gather. They are safe spaces where people can talk, listen, learn, pray, encourage one another and begin to believe again.

Across our communities, men, women, young people and families are walking the journey of recovery together.

Weekly Support Group Report

"Recovery is not just about breaking free from addiction—it's about rebuilding lives, restoring families, and discovering purpose."

This past week was another impactful week across the Beresh*th Foundation as our support groups continued to provide hope, accountability, healing and practical empowerment to men, women and families affected by substance abuse.

At our Women's Centre, beneficiaries participated in our Sewing and Skills Transfer Programme, where they learned pattern drafting, measuring, cutting and garment construction. These practical skills form part of our reintegration strategy, empowering our beneficiaries to become financially independent while restoring their confidence and dignity.

Our Family Support Groups created a safe space for loved ones to share their journeys, encourage one another and receive practical guidance on walking the road of recovery together. Healing addiction requires restoring the whole family, and these gatherings continue to strengthen those vital relationships.

Our Men's Support Groups focused on accountability, discipleship and personal growth. Honest conversations, Biblical encouragement and peer support reminded every participant that recovery is a daily decision supported by a healthy community.

At our Pomeroy Centre, beneficiaries gathered outdoors for group sessions, reflecting on personal growth, responsibility and God's purpose for their lives. These moments continue to build resilience, discipline and hope for the future.

Every support group is another reminder that recovery is possible when people are surrounded by love, structure, practical support and the transforming power of God.

We celebrate every small victory and remain committed to walking this journey together until every life is restored.

💙 NELSON MANDELA DAY | RESTORING HOPE, RESTORING DIGNITY 💙

As we celebrated Nelson Mandela Day, our Beresh*th Jeppestown Treatment Centre was incredibly blessed by the amazing staff of Crazy Slots and GRF, who chose to invest their 67 minutes—and so much more—into the lives of our beneficiaries.

What an extraordinary day of love in action!

Together they transformed our centre by:
🛏️ Donating new beds and bedding.
🚿 Installing gas geysers and new appliances.
🎨 Painting and refreshing our facility.
🔥 Preparing a delicious braai and serving a scrumptious meal to our men and women in recovery.
🤝 Spending quality time encouraging our beneficiaries to remain committed to their journey of healing, restoration, and lasting recovery.

Sometimes the greatest gift isn't only what is given—it's the message that accompanies it:

"You matter. We believe in you. Keep going."

To the incredible teams from Crazy Slots and GRF, thank you for your generosity, your compassion, and your willingness to stand alongside those rebuilding their lives. Your investment has brought renewed hope, restored dignity, and reminded our beneficiaries that they are seen, valued, and supported.

We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to every volunteer and every member of the Beresh*th family who continues to create an environment where transformation is possible.
