How to spec ironmongery correctly and why it matters on site.

Most project delays and budget overruns on the hardware side come down to one thing: the schedule wasn't right before the order was placed.

Here is what a correct ironmongery schedule includes:
📋 Door number - every opening referenced against your drawing
🔑 Lock function - deadbolt, sashlock, bathroom lock, or classroom function
🚪 Handle type - lever, pull handle, or pad
⚙️ Door closer - EN grade rated for traffic volume and door weight
🏷️ Finish - satin, polished chrome, or PVD matched across all products
📐 Hand of door - left or right hand, determines lock and closer configuration

Getting this right before you order saves time, money and rework on site.
