We recently completed a mining-site case study using LiDAR-enabled drones to produce high-resolution DTMs and classified point clouds that directly supported operational decisions. The deliverables reduced survey time, improved spatial accuracy, and allowed safe assessment of hazardous zones without putting teams at risk. Our bespoke drone platforms were key to capturing the right data under site-specific conditions. Read the full case study and see the results: https://wix.to/UrZy1tR . We took a remote southern African concession that was impractical for ground crews and completed a full orthomosaic and classified point cloud survey in a single day using our custom long‑range drone LiDAR. The flight covered 120 km² with vertical accuracy within 3 cm, cutting field time by over 70% compared with traditional methods. Our fleet is configured for local terrain and weather, giving engineers and mine planners reliable, survey‑grade deliverables where access is limited. We choose drone-based LiDAR because it delivers schedule certainty and lowers project risk on large or hard-to-reach African sites. Our long‑range drones cover extensive areas quickly, reducing time on the ground while producing classified point clouds and DTMs you can act on immediately. That means faster decisions for procurement and technical teams, fewer surprises in the field, and clearer progress reporting. We completed a large-scale aerial survey across ~31,000 hectares in Iganga, Uganda to support a proposed irrigation and damming scheme. Using our long-range, custom-built drones equipped with a 50MP metric camera, INS (1 cm positional / 0.004° angular), and a Livox Avia LiDAR (720k pps), we delivered orthomosaics, LAZ point clouds and raster DTMs tied to WGS84 UTM Zone 36N with EGM2008 heights.

Key outcomes: precise DTMs for dam and canal siting, >5 cm vertical accuracy, 5–6 pts/m² density, and full-area coverage despite dense vegetation — LiDAR ensured reliable ground models where photogrammetry struggled. Ground control used 10 points at 20 mm accuracy; trajectory processing combined PPP and PPK to keep positional deviations under 1.5 cm.

If you’re planning irrigation, water-resource or infrastructure projects in challenging African environments, we provide the high-accuracy geospatial foundation engineers and planners need. We completed a high-accuracy LiDAR and aerial survey for the Kao diamond mine in Lesotho, covering ~315 hectares and delivering survey-grade products for mining and engineering use. Using our in-house rotary-wing UAV fitted with a 60 MP metric camera, dual-frequency GNSS/IMU and a LIVOX Avia LiDAR, we achieved: average LiDAR density >80 pts/m², 5 cm GSD orthophotos and vertical accuracy better than 1.5 cm (1‑sigma).

To meet centimetre-level targets we installed 12 permanent ground-control points (QC to

We recently completed a remote mining survey in challenging African terrain using our custom fleet, delivering orthomosaics and classified point clouds that directly informed reserve estimates. Each flight covered up to 10 000 ha, producing a DTM with ±10 cm vertical accuracy. Those measurable gains cut on-site costs and gave engineers and project managers clearer, faster inputs for planning and decision-making. We recently completed a 60 km aerial LiDAR and photogrammetry survey of the Maragra Sugar Estate in Mozambique to help verify and reinforce storm-damaged levees protecting sugar cane fields from seasonal cyclones. Using our custom long-range platform fitted with a 50 MP metric camera, dual-frequency GNSS/INS and a Livox Avia LiDAR (720 kHz), we captured orthomosaics at 3 cm GSD, dense point clouds (30–50 pt/m²) and classified DTMs with vertical accuracy better than 3 cm (1σ).

We produce high-accuracy LiDAR from our custom long-range drones to reveal hidden site risks that traditional surveys can miss. Dense pointclouds and precise digital terrain models expose subtle slope instability, drainage paths and buried features so you can assess hazards before construction begins. Our remote workflows let us map extensive African sites safely and efficiently, reducing on‑site time and uncertainty. Learn how this improves your risk decisions and project timelines: https://wix.to/FH31CEH 🔍✈️ . Contact us to discuss your project.

We completed a high‑accuracy LiDAR and drone aerial survey for the Canaan Project near Manzini, eSwatini — covering ~380 hectares plus a bridge site 5 km east. Using our in‑house long‑range platform, dual‑frequency GNSS ground control and a 102 MP RGB camera paired with a high‑density LiDAR system, we delivered centimetre‑level accuracy across orthomosaics, DTMs, classified point clouds and CAD‑ready outputs.

Flight ops were efficient (72 km in under three hours) and, despite winter shadows affecting some RGB imagery, LiDAR provided consistent terrain models for engineering and planning. If your project needs dependable, large‑area survey data in Africa, we can support you from concept to delivery — ask us how the dataset can integrate with your designs and environmental studies.
