The 2030 FIFA World Cup is set to accelerate an exciting transformation journey already well underway in Morocco.

This week at the UK–Morocco Business Forum in Rabat and Casablanca, Turner & Townsend's James Hamilton moderated a session titled '2030 as a Catalyst for Change', exploring how Morocco plans to deliver the 2030 FIFA World Cup and harness it for long-term national development. Asef Ahmed and Sabrine Boudih also joined as part of the Turner & Townsend team attending the forum.

A few takeaways stood out from the closed-room discussion:
▶️ Morocco's federation recognises the scale of the task ahead — and is open to learning from Great Britain firms across infrastructure delivery and major events management.

▶️ Collaboration is everything: across Moroccan stakeholders, and with co-hosts Spain and Portugal.

▶️ The World Cup is a catalyst, not the starting point. Morocco is already on a path of significant societal and infrastructure uplift, and the tournament is speeding that up.

▶️ The ambition is firmly fixed on lasting social and economic legacy — long after the final whistle.

With a UK delegation of more than 50 companies, the opportunity reaches far beyond the stadiums.
And on a lighter note? The Moroccans are hoping the final in 2030 sees their National Team lining up against one of the Great Britain teams.

As we move into an exciting new era for the company, it is fantastic to be recognised once again with the PMR. africa Golden Arrow Award for excellence in project management.

It’s exciting to see how the KZN coastline is developing.
Profica has been involved in several hospitality and retail projects that still provide endless entertainment for visitors to these sunny shores.

One that stands out is project managing various upgrades and additions to the facilities at uShaka Marine World, a marine entertainment theme park and tourism destination located on Durban’s Golden Mile. We’ve had many animals watching us work at far-flung hospitality projects in Africa, but dolphins, sharks, seals and penguins were new! 🐬

We project managed the construction of infrastructure, new facilities, pools and a beach club over a three year period. Work included the upgrade of a number of specialist facilities, slides, amusements, a new boathouse for boats used in oceanographic research, as well as a renewed stage set for seal performances. Strict controls regarding noise and dust pollution were in place due to the sensitivity of the animals at the park.

We also project managed the construction of the annex to Moyo restaurant – situated over the ocean next to the park. This double-story, lightweight, and corrosion-resistant glass building provides sweeping panoramic views of the shoreline, harbour, and Moses Mabhida Stadium has stood the test of time, withstanding harsh sea and wind conditions.

We look forward to being involved in many more iconic hospitality projects.

We're excited to share the story behind the successful redevelopment of the Mövenpick Kigali for Accor. The hotel opened in November 2025 and is already proving to be a stand-out addition to Kigali's hospitality offerings, suited to both business and leisure.

As Project Manager and FIDIC Engineer, Profica led the complex transformation of a concrete shell into a world-class, five-star hospitality landmark. Our team navigated the logistical challenges, including managing international supply chains in a landlocked country.

Our Senior Project and Construction Manager for East Africa, Binneman Menigo, notes the importance of Profica's flexible and proactive problem-solving approach: "Profica provided boots on the ground and kept the shoelaces tied! It definitely required seeing around corners and thinking out of the box in terms of construction methodologies.”
