SIRAI BEACH
A series of arched openings and colonnades organise the building, defining a clear sequence of spaces while framing controlled views and shaded thresholds.
The structure is constructed from coral stone with a Lamu plaster finish, paired with timber elements. These materials are drawn from Swahili coastal building traditions, selected for their durability in the coastal climate and their ability to regulate internal temperatures through thermal mass.
The layout responds directly to the existing landscape, with mature trees retained and incorporated into the architecture. Circulation and openings are arranged around these elements, reducing site disturbance while maintaining a direct relationship between the building and its setting.
