This contemporary residence is a prime example of a double-gable architectural typology.
The facade is defined by two prominent, steeply pitched rooflines that create a dynamic and symmetrical elevation. The use of a double gable, a departure from the traditional single gable, allows for a more complex volumetric expression while maintaining a strong visual identity.
The architectural language is characterized by a deliberate juxtaposition of materials and forms. The residence features a dark, standing seam metal roof. The rooflines are clean and crisp, with a lack of visible overhangs and a concealed gutter system, which emphasizes the minimalist aesthetic and the sharp geometric angles. This design approach enables us to make the roof a key part of the facade.
The gable ends feature expansive, floor-to-ceiling glazing, creating a sense of transparency and allowing natural light to pe*****te deeply into the interior spaces. Large glass elements enables us to blur the lines between the indoor and outdoor environments.
The exterior is clad in a mix of materials, including warm vertical wood siding on the gable facades and a darker, smooth finish on the main volume of the house. This material palette creates a striking contrast that highlights the different sections of the home. The home also incorporates elements of concrete or stone on the front wall and pillars, which adds to its sturdy, grounded presence.
The residence is situated behind a minimalist fence and features a manicured landscape, including planted beds and a sculpture, which helps to define the approach and integrate the structure with its immediate surroundings.
This design prioritizes both visual appeal and functionality, using its roof structure to provide a spacious interior and a distinctive exterior while embracing clean lines and honest use of materials.
