Come and see what young people at POWERCHINA UAE are up to!
We regularly invite local university students to visit our project sites and see firsthand how solar panels transform sunlight into clean energy. During festivals such as the Mid-Autumn Festival and Dragon Boat Festival, Chinese and Arab youth come together to make mooncakes, practice calligraphy, and build friendships through shared laughter and experiences. In everyday conversations, they exchange stories — from the desert to the Yangtze, from oil to solar. Different lands, different energy journeys, yet the same hopes for the future.
Every interaction plants a new seed of friendship. Join us in this cultural exchange as we move together toward a future that is more inclusive, vibrant, and full of possibility.

This Earth Day, let’s explore the environmental commitment behind the Hassyan 180 MIGD SWRO IWP Project in the UAE, constructed by POWERCHINA.
Using world-class reverse osmosis technology, the project produces around 818,000 tonnes of fresh water each day — enough to meet the needs of nearly 1.8 million residents in Dubai. During construction, the team also took active steps to protect the surrounding environment, regularly cleaning the beach and removing plastic bottles, fishing nets, and other debris to safeguard the nearby wetland and its biodiversity. By balancing infrastructure development with ecological care, the project has earned high praise from local environmental authorities.

The UAE–China Business Promotion Conference was recently held in Beijing. Mr. Yu Libo, President of PowerChina International, attended the event and participated in a roundtable discussion on the next phase of bilateral energy cooperation.

Two world records in one go! POWERCHINA’s Rabigh Phase IV Desalination Plant in Saudi Arabia has just passed a 30-day reliability test—delivering the shortest construction time of any similar facility and the lowest energy use ever seen in its class.
Located on the Red Sea coast, the plant produces 600,000 cubic meters of fresh water a day. Once fully operational, it will supply clean drinking water to over 3 million people—residents and pilgrims in Jeddah, Mecca, Medina, and beyond. From design to operation, the plant has maintained stable performance, with all water supply indicators meeting both design and regulatory standards. This has earned high recognition and unanimous praise from the owner and all relevant parties.

Recently, the China in springtime: UAE-China dialogue in the UAE was held in Abu Dhabi, bringing together political, business, and think tank representatives from China and the UAE for in-depth discussions on development. Peng Gang, President of POWERCHINA MENA, was invited to attend.
Abu Dhabi PV3 Al Ajban 1.5GW Photovoltaic Project, constructed by POWERCHINA, achieved a localization rate of 94% for its core equipment, serving as a vivid example of China-UAE green energy cooperation. POWERCHINA will continue to take practical actions to promote mutual benefit and win-win outcomes in the clean energy sector.
