Giving existing scenic builds a second life.

For JESS School’s production of *Matilda*, Evolution Scenic transformed the previously built *Mamma Mia* set into a completely refreshed theatrical environment tailored to the musical’s unique visual identity.

The refurbishment included structural repairs, replacement of damaged wooden sections, and a complete scenic repaint to align the set with the creative direction of the new production.

By reimagining and repurposing the existing build, the project extended the lifecycle of the original set while reducing material waste.

The result was a visually compelling stage environment that felt entirely new, showcasing how thoughtful scenic refurbishment can combine creativity, sustainability, and craftsmanship.

Meet Deepeesh Devadas – Scenic Project Manager at Evolution

With over 16 years of experience across construction and design in Dubai, Deepeesh brings a rare combination of hands-on technical knowledge and strategic project leadership.

Beginning his career as a carpenter and foreman, he developed a deep understanding of build processes that today strengthens his role as a Scenic Project Manager.

Since joining Evolution in 2021, Deepeesh has led projects from concept to completion, ensuring seamless coordination across teams, timelines, and technical ex*****on.

His portfolio includes high-profile works such as the Jotun Conference and Exhibition, Slovenia’s Pavilion at Expo 2020, and multiple internal furniture initiatives including Evo Blocks. His earlier experience on exhibitions like Warner Brothers, Investopia, and ADIPEC further sharpened his ability to manage large-scale, detail-driven environments.
