Al Shera'a — Arabic for "sail" — is the world's tallest, largest, and smartest net Zero Energy Building. The new headquarters of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), located in the Cultural Village of Al Jaddaf, Dubai.
Every element of this building was designed and engineered to generate more energy than it consumes. And the façade is where that ambition is most visible.

🏗️ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗮ç𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴:
Al Abbar Group delivered the complete façade scope across 40,000 m² of curtain wall systems and 21,400 m² of aluminium cladding — designed, engineered, manufactured, and installed by one integrated team.
The building's elliptical form minimises East and West façade exposure — reducing solar heat gain at the elevations where it is hardest to control. The undulated lateral surface and inner courtyards are clad with a triple-glazed unitised curtain wall system. Stick curtain wall systems are deployed at podium levels alongside GRC horizontal fins — combining solar shading with architectural expression.
251 Building Integrated Photovoltaic panels are embedded directly into the façade — generating 187 kWp of on-site renewable energy. The façade does not just protect the building from the sun. It harvests it.

Three individually designed high-rise towers rising at the entrance to Palm Jumeirah — the Tubular Tower at 261 metres, the Central Tower at 211 metres, and the Beach Tower at 205 metres — constructed above the iconic Palm Monorail Gateway.
Al Abbar Group is delivering the complete façade scope across all three towers — and installation is advancing exactly as engineered.
