Test Name: Temperature of Freshly Mixed Concrete
Standard: ASTM C1064/C1064M-23 — Standard Test Method for Temperature of Freshly Mixed Hydraulic-Cement Concrete.
Purpose: To measure the temperature of fresh concrete at the time of testing and verify compliance with the project-specified temperature requirement.
Typical field procedure:
Obtain a representative sample of fresh concrete.
Insert the calibrated thermometer/probe into the concrete.
Ensure the probe is surrounded by concrete and not touching the container.
Allow the reading to stabilize, typically 2–5 minutes.
Record the temperature in °C.
