A fan coil unit (FCU) is a device that consists of a fan and a coil. It is commonly used in HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems to control the temperature and humidity of a room or space. The fan coil unit is usually installed in or near the space it serves, such as in a ceiling or floor, and it connects to a central air handling system.

A Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) indoor block, also known as an indoor unit or indoor module, is a key component of a VRF HVAC system. VRF systems are advanced heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems commonly used in commercial and residential buildings. They offer precise control over temperature in different zones within a building, high energy efficiency, and flexible installation options.

➡Functionality: VRF indoor blocks are responsible for delivering conditioned air to specific zones within a building. They work in conjunction with outdoor units to provide both heating and cooling as needed. The indoor blocks are equipped with refrigerant coils that absorb or release heat, depending on the mode of operation (heating or cooling).
➡There are various types of indoor blocks available to suit different installation requirements and architectural constraints. Common types include ceiling cassette units, wall-mounted units, concealed ducted units, floor-standing units, and high static pressure units.
➡Integration: VRF systems can often integrate with building automation systems (BAS) for centralized control and monitoring. This allows for enhanced energy management, scheduling, and fault detection.
➡Energy Efficiency: VRF systems are known for their high energy efficiency compared to traditional HVAC systems. The ability to modulate refrigerant flow based on demand, combined with features like heat recovery, contributes to significant energy savings over time.
