22·26 Hybrid Refurbishment at Universitätstrasse, Zurich ♻️
Transforming existing buildings is key to a more sustainable future. Our refurbishment of a 1970s office building brings this vision to life, combining high comfort with minimal reliance on conventional building services, following the method 22·26.
By revealing the original ceiling heights and activating the building’s thermal mass, we’ve created a naturally balanced indoor climate between 22 and 26°C supported by an optimised façade, reduced glazing, and smart control systems.
Powered by a photovoltaic façade, heat pump, and complemented by a green roof 🌿, the building now offers 1,418 m² of flexible workspace and a rooftop terrace with panoramic views over Zurich and Lake Zurich.
Awarded BREEAM Refurbishment Outstanding, the project sets a strong example for sustainable transformation in Switzerland.
Now home to Jung von Matt Switzerland, it stands as a vibrant, contemporary workplace.
Thank you to all project partners for the great collaboration!
