querkraft

one for the archive.
what if an archive wasn’t hidden — but experienced? this is our design for the marbach literature archive as part of a new campus arc. protected below ground, open and alive above. public space meets knowledge. silence meets exchange. a walkable roof becomes landscape. the facade reads like layered book pages — capturing light, producing energy, constantly changing. it’s a place to explore, connect, and rediscover literature.

piece by piece.
the heritage-listed hall of the royal bavarian cannon and munitions factory in ingolstadt is slowly being reborn as the new home of the museum for concrete art where raw industrial history meets contemporary culture.
every layer of this transformation tells a story. photographer johannes hauser captures the process in all its powerful, poetic details. you can find more of his shots and the current state of the building site on the museum's website at https://www.mkk-ingolstadt.de/neubau/baustelle.

the mind hive.
no, we’re not talking about the bad guy in stranger things. we’re talking about something much more positive: the power of collaboration and swarm intelligence.
our competition design for the university of oxford college library is built around these ideas. we wanted to create a space that doesn’t just store knowledge, but actively encourages learning, connection, and curiosity. every space was conceived to maximize accessibility of knowledge and inspire students to engage with ideas together.
and we didn’t stop there. during the design process, we took this concept even further by using jakob dunkl's sketches and integrating AI tools as much as possible, allowing us to experiment with new ways that swarm intelligence can inform architectural design. the result is a building shaped not just by a single vision, but by collective creativity.
