A simple tidy up can make a big difference.

These clients had recently moved into their new property and wanted to make this area more usable again. The path had become overgrown and difficult to access, so we cleared it back and helped make the space feel more inviting for the whole family.

This is just the start. Over time we’ll continue improving the area and adding plants that suit the clients’ vision for their garden.

Sometimes the first step is simply clearing the way and bringing a space back to life.

A little while ago we shared a video of us carrying out a controlled burn on some Australian grass trees, and a few people were curious why we do it.

In the Australian bush, fire is a natural part of the environment. Grass trees have adapted to it over thousands of years, with fire helping remove built-up thatch and encouraging fresh new growth.

Fast forward just two months, and this is the result. Healthy new shoots emerging and the plants thriving once again.

Sometimes working with nature, rather than against it, gives the best outcome

When a gardener becomes a runner, you still stop to admire the flowers lol

Some habits never leave though, still noticing lawns, gardens, and flowers wherever I go 😂

Stage one of this backyard transformation is complete.

The client had recently moved in and was tired of looking at a patchy, lifeless attempt at a lawn. The goal was simple, create a space that feels inviting, low maintenance and full of life.

Today we focused on rebuilding the foundation first. We added compost to bring life back into the soil, laid cardboard to help suppress w**ds naturally, and finished it off with a fresh layer of mulch to tidy the space and retain moisture and nutrients.

Next step is planting out a mix of endemic and native plants to really bring the garden to life and create a space that feels connected to the local environment.

Stay tuned for the next stage.

Up early for the Merewether Mile. Not a bad way to start the day. Even better to come away with a PB and complete my first ever running event.

A good reminder that progress comes from consistently showing up, even when something feels hard at the start.

Here’s to the future, pushing the limits, and seeing what improvements can be made over time, both in running, business and in life

Out with the old, in with something that feels right again.

This garden had slowly become a space that was easier to ignore than enjoy. The old timber edging had deteriorated over time, and with it, the desire to spend time out here.

We approached this refresh with simplicity and longevity in mind. Clean lines of weathering steel edging now frame the space, giving it structure without feeling forced. Finished with a deep layer of mulch, the garden feels calm, grounded, and effortless to maintain.

More importantly, it’s somewhere you actually want to be again, whether that’s a quiet coffee in the morning or time with family on the weekend.

If your garden no longer reflects how you want to live, it might be time for a change.
