Exact Contracting was thrilled to assist ARTC and Cat5 repairing the rail network to get freight moving again across Australia after the recent floods.
The Exact team, led by our experienced Area Manager Methy Yiv, was able to quickly mobilise and repair the rail lines safely by using the right equipment and people.
Freight trains are moving again on the Broken Hill rail line, with services resuming 10 days ahead of schedule following major flood impacts in the Sydney-Perth corridor.
Over the two weeks of disruption, the Melbourne-Perth corridor was able to play a critical role in keeping freight moving and essential goods flowing to and from Western Australia.
In that same period, ARTC crews and partners delivered more than 5,300 hours of repair work across track and bridge infrastructure, restoring this critical East-West link safely and ahead of forecast.
More than 28 freight services are scheduled this week, rebalancing national freight flows as the corridor returns to service.
“ARTC recognises the work of our contracting partners, including CAT5rail, Exact Contracting, HCH and Hatch, who delivered complex repairs safely and at pace,” said Clinton Crump, ARTC Group Executive Operations. “This was a coordinated effort across the rail industry, maintaining supply while we restored the network safely and as quickly as possible.”
