Solmech were proud to recently attend the Wellington 150th Show, celebrating a huge milestone for the local community.
PCL Construction organised for trade partners to support the event through donations, as a way of giving back and showing appreciation to the local community..
We were please to be allocated a tent at the show, giving us the opportunity to showcase the success of Gentari Australia’s Maryvale Solar and battery project and chat with locals who were interested in learning more about the work being delivered in their region.
A big thank you to Francisco Bossetti, who attended on behalf of Solmech and had a fantastic day connecting with the community.
We’re proud to be part of a project that not only contributes to Australia’s renewable energy future, but also supports local engagement, local employment and strong community relationships along the way.

We recently wrapped up a great day of filming at Gentari Australia’s Maryvale Solar & Energy Storage Project, spotlighting the skill, hard work and enthusiasm found in the region.

Providing regional opportunities has always been a big focus for us throughout the Maryvale Project. It’s not just about filling roles but creating real opportunities for local people. We take pride in helping others work in the renewables industry, learn new skills, and live in their community.

Working alongside PCL Construction and partners Joblink Plus, has allowed us to connect with local workers and businesses. Importantly, it has helped us get people job-ready and onto site, providing them the support they need to grow and learn.
SOLMECH are proud of what’s been achieved so far and are even more excited to share the final video once it’s ready.

Great progress continues at Gentari’s Maryvale Solar & Energy Storage Project in NSW. Our teams across piling, drilling and mechanical are working hard to keep momentum strong, with a great level of collaboration between crews onsite. It’s been great to see the consistent focus on safety, quality, and teamwork as we move through this stage of the project. A big thanks to PCL Construction and everyone involved for their continued effort and commitment, these results don’t happen without a strong team behind them.

We’re also proud to be providing local opportunities, particularly to young team members like Aaron and Cohen, both Wellington locals, who are being trained on our excavators and developing their skills in drilling operations.

Creating pathways for learning workers and seeing them step confidently into new responsibilities on large-scale renewable projects is exactly what these projects are about!

We’re currently working on the Tauhei Solar Farm, New Zealand’s largest solar project, with 80% of our works now complete, partnering alongside Elecnor New Zealand.

It’s been great to be part of this project and to see the progress made on site as we work together to deliver another large-scale renewable energy project in New Zealand. We’re proud to collaborate with strong partners and contribute to the growth of clean energy infrastructure in the region.

As we step into a new year, we’re proud to reflect on the momentum already achieved Gentari’s Maryvale Solar & Energy Storage Project in NSW.

Our crews are back on site, focused, energised, and ready to continue delivering quality work safely and efficiently. It’s a great time to reset, refocus, and build on the strong foundations already laid, with teamwork and safety at the forefront of everything we do.

Here’s to another year of progress, collaboration, and shared success. We’re looking forward to what’s ahead and to making 2026 a standout year for this project and everyone involved.
