The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Severe Weather Warning for DAMAGING WINDS and HEAVY RAINFALL for people in Adelaide Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Mid North, Kangaroo Island and parts of West Coast, Yorke Peninsula, Flinders, Riverland, Murraylands, Upper South East, Eastern Eyre Peninsula and North East Pastoral districts.

Issued at 10:20 pm Thursday, 4 August 2022.
Damaging winds and local heavy rainfall overnight and on Friday, but slowly easing from the west on Friday.

Weather Situation: A broad, deep and complex low pressure system lies over waters to the south of the continent. A front associated with this system is over the south of SA and will result in a broadly strong to damaging northwesterly airstream with squally showers and thunderstorms.

DAMAGING WINDS will average 50-70 km/h at times with gusts in excess 90 km/h.

Conditions will ease over western districts before contracting to elevated terrain early Friday.

Squally showers and thunderstorms are forecast to continue. Localised heavy falls of 25-30 mm/hr are possible, particularly about the Mount Lofty Ranges overnight and Friday morning.

A Flood Watch has also been issued for the Mount Lofty Ranges.
Locations which may be affected include Adelaide, Victor Harbor, Port Lincoln, Whyalla, Mount Gambier, Port Pirie, Maitland, Murray Bridge, and Kingscote.

Severe weather is no longer occurring in the Lower South East and North West Pastoral districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED.

Severe wind gusts have been reported at several locations this afternoon, including Strathalbyn 109 km/h, 93 km/h at Hindmarsh Island, 100 km/h Murray Bridge. Raised dust over the western Murraylands this afternoon.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water;
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains;
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.

The next Severe Weather Warning will be issued by 5:00 am ACST Friday.

Issued at 4:47 am Tuesday, 31 May 2022.

Damaging winds across southeast parts of the state.

Weather Situation: A vigorous southwesterly flow extends across the southeast of South Australia this morning as a series of troughs move in from the Southern Ocean, bringing a risk of damaging winds until this evening.

Southwesterly winds averaging 50 to 65 km/h with DAMAGING gusts in excess of 90 km/h are likely in the warning area today. Winds are expected to ease during this evening.

Locations which may be affected include Mount Gambier, Murray Bridge, Kingscote, Victor Harbor, Meningie and Jamestown.

Severe weather is no longer occurring in the Flinders and North East Pastoral districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED.

* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.

The Bureau of Meteorology have issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning ⚠️ for DAMAGING WINDS πŸ’¨ for people in parts of West Coast and North West Pastoral districts.

Issued at 4:15 pm Tuesday, 24 May 2022.

Damaging wind gusts possible with thunderstorms in the far west.

Weather Situation: A humid and unstable airmass lies on and east of a trough of low pressure in the far west of the State.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging wind gusts in excess of 90 km/h in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Maralinga.

* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Move cars under cover or away from trees.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.
