Congratulations to the five newest MBA apprentices who completed their induction with us today! 👷🎉

Pictured left to right;

Mark, at 40, is commencing an adult apprenticeship, and looking forward to becoming a fully qualified carpenter following 8 years working as a labourer. He is passionate about carpentry and the sense of achievement you get out of building something with your own hands.

Adam, 18, is following the example set by his brother and taking up a plumbing apprenticeship, commencing with Jordan Plumbing. Adam loves doing active work, and as a plumbers apprentice he'll get plenty of that!

Julian is 15 and going into a school-based bricklaying apprenticeship. He always thought of himself as a carpenter, but tried out bricklaying and found he enjoyed the work more. It's great to be able to make this decision early and commit while still in school!

Felix is also commencing a bricklaying apprenticeship, inspired by the stone and brickwork in old buildings, he has aspirations of progressing to stone masonry in Europe one day! He'll be laying a great foundation with his apprenticeship at Adelaide Masonry.

Cambell is 19, and has a couple of family members and a good mate in the trades, and they've all been encouraging him to give it a go. Cambell is taking up a carpentry apprenticeship and is looking forward to learning all he can, so he can build houses - and perhaps one day run his own building company.

There is so much potential in this group, and we thank you for choosing Master Builders SA to commence your journey in the building and construction industry. We wish you the best for your apprenticeships and look forward to watching you grow and develop your skills.

It was an incredible opportunity to connect with so many passionate students and chat about how our services can help launch their careers.

Judging has commenced!

The judges for the 2026 Master Builders SA Building Excellence Awards are visiting sites across the state to assess more than 200 award entries.

Here’s an update from the Chair of Judges, Marcus Rigney:

“Judging is officially underway for this year’s SA Building Excellence Awards - and sometimes, judging means going behind the scenes!

This week, we suited up in scrubs to inspect the Eastwood Hospital Project. It’s a reminder that these awards are about far more than what’s visible on the surface - they recognise the craftsmanship, innovation, leadership, and problem-solving that bring complex projects to life.

With more than 200 entries across 45 categories, our independent judging panel is looking for projects that set new benchmarks, inspire future generations, and showcase the very best of South Australia’s building and construction industry.

As Chair of Judges, it’s a privilege to witness the passion, expertise, and commitment that continues to shape our industry and help build a stronger, more future-ready South Australia.

Good luck to all entrants — the standard this year is exceptional.”
