Thank you to customer Michelle from Strathalbyn who nominated a picket fence we constructed last year for an Alexandrina Council Heritage Award - which won! The fence was a tricky project where we decided to keep some of the existing posts and low wall, then construct a heritage-compliant new Pointed profile picket fence, with new Rails, Feature Posts plus extend the fence to incorporate driveway Gates and a side yard fence and Gate. All designed to compliment the modest Victorian-era cottage and fully painted by the hard working HF crew in "Broken White".
We were unable to attend the main awards presentation some time ago but I was pleased to attend a small catch-up yesterday at Goolwa to see Michelle receive her award. Special thanks to Pippa Buckberry for her heritage input and Alexandrina Council for some of the images, Mayor Keith Parkes and other council staff.
