July is a useful time to plan ahead in Adelaide gardens. 🌿

While growth can slow down through winter, the soil still holds enough moisture to give new plantings a good start before the warmer months arrive.

Bare-root roses can settle in while dormant, sweet peas can establish before their flowering season, and winter veggies like broad beans, peas and spinach are well suited to the cooler conditions.

A little winter planting now can help create more colour, structure and productivity in the garden later in the year.

This is the part of landscaping people don’t always see.
Before the green lawn, clean garden beds and finished edges, there’s the groundwork — clearing, levelling, soil preparation and getting the space ready properly.
This backyard started as a tired, uneven area that wasn’t doing much for the home. Now it feels open, clean and usable again, with a fresh lawn area, simple structured garden beds, neat edging and planting that softens the fence line without taking over the space.
It’s still a practical family backyard, but now it has shape, flow and a much more finished feel — the kind of upgrade that makes the whole home feel better from the outside in.
